WHERE AND WITH WHOM DO YOU WANT TO START THE STORY?

Q&A from author

Hey, guys!

Recently I ran into a problem: I don't have ideas regarding certain aspects of combining MHA and "Pink Sky". For some things I simply cannot find the right details, words, descriptions, images, and so on.

If you've noticed, I try to describe every detail, movement, intention of a character, and so on as thoroughly as possible. I constantly think about how a scene would look best so that the reader could believe it and say: «Yes, this is definitely how it would have been. With the caveat of the MHA and PS universe, but it would be exactly as described. Realistic, jerk-off-worthy, enjoyable)))».

I won't deny it – sometimes I get carried away so much that I have to straighten the rails of the plot with crutches and rough patches so the characters don't stray too far from the topic (in the latest chapters you probably could notice this, since the chapters there are longer, as is the number of actions, and the density of those actions alone makes one frown).

And these hundreds of details are often not connected to each other, and that's not interesting to me. I realized quite a long time ago that the more developed the world is, the better the characters within it look and feel to the viewer/reader. And I want that as well.

Therefore, I am essentially creating a new "section", where I ask questions that concern me, and you can try to answer them in the comments. After your answer, I will update the chapter and place your answer below the question with your nickname.

Also, YOU can ask some questions in the comments, and I, by adding a new chapter or updating an old one, will add your question next to mine and try to answer it (or, if I cannot come up with an answer – someone else may write their own answer).

I hope I explained the meaning of this "section" clearly and what will be happening here. The topic seems simple, but for me it feels important.

(If you think my question is phrased incorrectly or is unclear – please say where it was unclear and maybe how it could be fixed)

Questions from the author:

In your opinion, how will the conflict between heroes and villains change after «Pink Sky» finishes transforming everything and everyone? How can I keep villains if most of their traumas simply become kinks and fetishes that can be satisfied through safe means? How can I explain why villains are villains?

Explanation: In fact, the past and the present have changed. Every person has become much more open toward other people, everyone is now beautiful and sexy in their own way (and people with mutant-type quirks have even become a kind of "exotic" that is rather attractive and sexual), because of which traumas and problems related to being ignored by society, rejection of one's appearance, and so on – have disappeared or become many times softer and more arousing. That means a large number of villains, logically, simply would not appear, because they would not have received the traumas that society inflicted on them in the original.

As an example we can take Spinner – he was not accepted because of his mutant quirk. Because of that he became embittered and closed himself off until he saw Stain on the internet.

But now Spinner is quite attractive to those who are into monster-people. At the very least, in the altered past he should have become an interesting experience for many people. So he shouldn't be so hateful to the society.

And it is the same with a huge number of other characters. Toga, Twice, Gentle, Magne, and so on – all of them will cease to be villains as such. And MHA will stop being a universe about heroes, villains, students, quirks, and will simply become a porn universe with superpowers and guys who suddenly started wearing colorful spandex, running around cities and countries, having limited permission to use their quirks. But I want to preserve the conflict between heroes and villains, preserve perhaps the darkness and the serious part of the universe, give the characters real motivation to be who they are in the original. Yes, softening is possible as well, especially considering «Pink Sky».

Answer:

(...Inspired by "just some account" and my anonymus friend...)

  • Most of the reasons and motives that made villains into villains were restructured or removed, but in their place, new ones emerged, providing a similar degree of motivation to destabilize hero society.

Example: Spinner.

If earlier his motives were social rejection and later being inspired by Stain's ideology, now he rejects hero society on his own – first by recognizing the hollowness of heroes and the deep flaws in society, and a little later by learning about Stain and realizing their views are extremely similar, which is why he ends up following his new idol.

Let's say he lived in a district that underwent a mass transformation, where most residents developed a fetish for submission and "pet play" toward people with animal-type quirks. During the active phase of the phenomenon, Spinner was in another city (say, he went to a "Screaming Neko" concert), so he wasn't affected by the general change that created the hierarchy of "masters" (ordinary people) and "pets" (those with mutant quirks) in the district.

Most of the population was fine with this dynamic: they either enjoy dominating or obediently submit. Spinner, however, didn't fit into this system. Due to the "Adaptation of the past", all residents of the district had always known and honored this division, teaching it to their children as well. So he had felt like an outsider ever since he got his quirk. His immediate circle, driven by their fetishes, overwhelming libido, and a perverse sense of how things should be, constantly humiliated and sexually harassed him, treating him the "usual way" "mutants" were treated. And when he openly rejected their way of life, they bullied him even more, this time because he was different.

Let's say he couldn't leave (maybe, like Vin Diesel, he thought family was the most important thing, so he endured until the very end – I dunno, lol).

His hope and happiness were fading, held together only by the hero profession. Until one day, by chance, he got to see them "behind the scenes": some group of heroes showed themselves in a less than favorable light. He was shocked that his idols (even if that particular group of heroes were his idols) turned out to be deeply rotten and despicable people – their fetishes were **** and immoral, but in public, they presented themselves as pretty "vanilla" in such matters, and overall, that only All Might was better than them (an absolute idol for Spinner, even after he became a villain, like in the original). He posted about it online, but first he was hounded by devoted fans, and then publicly mocked by the so-called heroes themselves. So he, having finally lost everything he considered valuable, dear, or close to his heart, turned his back on society, later found inspiration in Stain, and then joined the League of Villains.

  • Some villains stopped being villains because their motives were fairly simple to begin with. In other words, their problems would have been easily solved if someone had put in even a minimal amount of effort.

Example: Himiko Toga.

In the original, her strict parents were horrified when they learned that due to her quirk, their daughter felt a literal thirst for blood, on par with the need to eat or sleep.

In this new version, she miraculously met people in childhood who weren't afraid of her and let her drink their blood, even if just a little (for Toga; but in fact, those kids gave almost a tenth of what's inside a body).

Her parents still viewed her quirk negatively, and she, like in the original, played the role of a "good girl" in front of them, but now, simultaneously, in secret and with permission, she drank the blood of her friends – those who valued her more than anyone else in her life. In the end, she graduated with honors, moved away from her parents almost immediately, and went to study with those same friends, who accepted and loved all of her, in every sense, and it was fully mutual.

Thus, Toga never became a villain and entered into a relationship with her childhood best friends, forming a powerful, synergistic love triangle (not a dramatic "love triangle," but one with three fully realized, mutually in love partners).

  • New villains took the "vacant spots", committing immoral and unethical acts for reasons rooted in society rejecting the "least sexy", and also because some people simply cannot control their libido at all. And some of the old reasons still exist: poverty, injustice, excessive sadism (which has only grown stronger and more perverted), and so on.

Example: a new villain (let's call him Kirohiro Chotiro).

A guy who previously lived an ordinary student life suddenly becomes a "giga-alpha male", who takes "other people's females" from weaker "males", corrupting and subjugating anyone he takes a liking to (not excluding some cute guys either...). His lust and libido have driven him so insane that he now constantly walks around naked (sometimes in unauthorized zones) and, by abusing his quirk "Pheromones" (which previously only worked on certain animals but now works on people as well), subjugates ordinary girls to his will, having sex with them with their "permission", sometimes right on the street (I don't think I need to say that they agree while in an altered state of consciousness).

  • Some villains have hardly changed despite everything that happened, due to their enormous role in the future and their unshakable principles.

Example: All for One.

He is still the same biggest shot in the underground world of villains and the greatest threat to Japan. Yes, now he has a harem of modified Nomu. Yes, some of his stolen quirks now have a sexual slant. But he is still the most serious, dangerous, and brilliant villain who has ever existed.

  • Hero schools and academies now include lessons in their curriculum on how to combat sexual crime (not in the sense that all crime is irresistible and attractive, but rather that the crimes themselves are of a sexual nature).

Thank you to "just some account" and my friend who asked to remain anonymous for your help! Your responses and reasoning provided me with excellent food for thought. This has greatly improved my motivation to work on the fanfic!

Questions from the "fluffysheeplion":

My First Question: How are quirks fetishized? In canon your place in society is affected heavily by your quirk. People can be said to have monstrous quirks. The quirkless are second class citizens at best. You can't erase that overnight. What are the expectations placed on people for having certain quirks? For example: its a common trope in this fandom to turn Jiro's jacks into vibrators. What other perversions occur? What is your OC's quirk and how does this affect him?

My Second Question: Does the mindset of the populace affect celebrities? Its been trivial for your OC and Jiro to affect each other during the Pink Sky and thats just the two of them alone. How does millions of people with preconceived and rapidly perverting ideas of the top heroes affect those individuals? Is All Might still sick if everyone assumes he's healthy? Is Endeavor still a horrible parent or does his public face influence his true personality? Is Hawks influenced by his public perception? Do the sexual implications of rabbits affect Miruko?

Answers to "fluffysheeplion" by author:

Thank you for showing interest in my work and for approaching the answer with knowledge. Unfortunately, I have already received answers that are exhaustive enough for me regarding the question of the conflict between heroes and villains, so I will not change my version of the answer (you can read it in this chapter).

First block of questions:

These questions are very good! In truth, I hadn't thought about the specific mechanism of the sexualization and fetishization of Quirks within my universe, nor about the global impact on society. I was limiting myself to random inspirations from various sources on how superpowers (anomalous abilities) could be used for all sorts of debauchery, without thinking on a large scale about their impact on society. I'll try to clarify these points:

1.1 – "How are quirks fetishized?"

At first, I misunderstood this question. I thought you were asking me about the mechanism of the sexualization of Quirks themselves – that is, how Quirks become new sex tools – rather than how people now perceive Quirks and those who possess them.

To put it simply and briefly: People are still people. They exalt those who look brighter, more confident, richer, and sexier, and especially those who, with the help of their Quirk, can both save people and fuck. For example, Miruko has now gained her enormous ranking within a few weeks after debuting, due to her sexy Amazon-rabbit appearance and a Quirk that, according to rabbit stereotypes, turns the heroine into a fucking machine, desiring as many children and as much sex as possible. That is, those whose Quirks provide a sea of sexual opportunities dominate society.

On the other hand, those whose Quirks do not provide particularly noticeable improvements to the sexual experience, or are even "villainous" (worse if both apply), they languish at the bottom/middle of society, branded as "losers" or "unattractive persons", with whom sex and communication should be as careful and minimal as possible. They are shunned because of their strangeness, partly even feared (there has been a softening of appearance towards attractiveness, but only for those with "scary" Quirks) due to potential danger. That is, if the "Rabbit" Quirk is the height of sexuality and the current peak of fashion, then a Quirk that allows you to instantly calculate in your head – well, it might be useful in an office, but essentially, you're a boring person. Even if a villainous Quirk can be used creatively in sex, society is afraid of it, so the owner cannot rise to the top – the ability and the owner are too specific and strange.

Below them are only the Quirkless – those whom nature has deprived of the ability to give others a specific sexual experience or to do anything "interesting". Their current position is almost the same as in the original, if not worse – they are dehumanized to the level of "toys for rough, fleeting hookups". No one cares about their personalities, no one needs their abilities: if you can't even grow your nails at will or at least last half an hour longer in bed – you're not welcome here, at best – stand here, be a disposable dildo/masturbator.

This is not so much a replacement of the old dynamic of "heroic" and "villainous" Quirks with the Quirkless as trash, but rather an addition and intensification of the conflict – the overlay of another level of evaluation: "sexual" and "non-sexual".

1.2 – "What are the expectations placed on people for having certain quirks?"

As I understand it, you are asking whether Quirks, having become sexualized, become an even brighter label for their owner. Like: «If she/he has a dog Quirk, then her/his character must be very docile and eager for approval. That means if I show her my dick, she'll stand on her hind legs like a faithful doggie and start begging for a treat, submissively barking at my feet»? If that's the question, then the answer is – mostly yes. People primarily judge by appearance and attributes, and only then by true personality and actions. Of course, there are still people who look for something beneath the external layer of the image, but they are a minority. Yes, people expect that those with animal Quirks will also have behavioral, stereotypical characteristics of the animal in a sexual context, that those who somehow affect the mind will have a manipulative nature, and so on. I think further explanation is unnecessary, as it seems obvious – it's all based on sexual stereotypes.

1.3 – "What other perversions occur?"

Based on your example of Jiro's "vibrator earphone jacks", I can assume that you are asking about other examples of similar perversions. That is, "What popular fandom fantasies have you implemented/will you implement in your fanfic?" I will proceed from this:

I've thought about the already "classic" clichés about characters in such works. And they will be there! Tsuyu's "frog tongue" (blowjobs and deep throat), Miruko's "rabbit fertility" (crazy sex with creampies), Hitoshi's "mind control" (I think no explanation is needed), the Ochako x Izuku x Himiko trio (interesting chemistry in a three-person relationship), and other similar ideas will be somehow played out and implemented in future chapters (I won't give dates – I don't know them myself).

If you want to know what NEW ideas for using Quirks I have, I'll only give a hint (otherwise, I'm afraid you won't want to read further): I drew inspiration for Mina Ashido's new abilities from the arts of Gorilla Invisible. And for Momo, I chose the "Mommy" idea, based on "Shoto-kon" tropes.

(Attention! I do NOT support **** – ONLY adults, rationally thinking people who found each other due to the peculiarities of their appearance, are involved in my idea! Neither my characters nor I are attracted to children!! I just took a popular dynamic.)

A little later, a female character with a cow Quirk, as well as her family, should appear. I think, based on her Quirk, you can guess what will approximately happen.

Regarding Kyoka personally (yes, she's my favorite girl from 1-A, followed by Ashido, any questions?): her Quirk will not be used in sex only as vibrators (new functionality will be revealed in the next chapter, "Kyoka Acts Determinately!"; I'm not sure that I wrote and described this new functionality without it being nonsense, so I apologize in advance if I somehow ruined the expectation/impression! It will happen again!).

Regarding my OC:

His Quirk will also be revealed in the next chapter, "Kyoka acts determinately!". Its influence on his position in society is almost none; in the eyes of the public, he's an ordinary guy, a UA student, he has a Quirk, not particularly flashy, but nevertheless very useful, and for sex – just right. In the plot, it won't play any important, global role (nor will the very factor of Quirks in the entire fanfic – it's not the right genre to explore issues of discrimination, inequality of rights and conditions) – rather, it's a way to logically establish the dynamic between Kyoka and Chris, so that he doesn't fall behind her.

Second block of questions:

2.1 – "Does the mindset of the populace affect celebrities? How does millions of people with preconceived and rapidly perverting ideas of the top heroes affect those individuals?"

Yes, it does. But not as strongly as one might assume (the same thought does not layer upon itself like an exponent, but rather like addition with a coefficient, where each subsequent identical thought has less and less weight in the changes; this continues until the thought simply becomes an actual fact that no longer affects reality). The vector of transformation from thoughts, perceptions, and words is the sum of ALL the vectors of everyone who thinks about the object/subject. That is, a kind of average transformation vector is created, along which all further changes proceed. And yes, the more thoughts, opinions, and the like – the more dominant and powerful the general idea/thought transforms the object/subject (the general idea does not include those that contradict it).

2.2 – "Is All Might still sick if everyone assumes he's healthy?"

Yes, his injury is a key part of his motivation, history, and so on. It affects his existence too strongly to simply disappear. The only thing that has changed is that his "Healthy" mask has become many times more convincing, as has his "combat form", which has become larger and stronger.

2.3 – "Is Endeavor still a horrible parent or does his public face influence his true personality?"

Yes, he's still a moron. I didn't specify it in the rules of the «Pink Sky» but I touched on it in the topic about objects: "The more personal an object is to a sentient being, and the more often it is in direct contact with the body, the stronger and more individual the transformation" – this rule roughly applies to sentient subjects as well. That is, the closer one person is to another (by blood and perception), the stronger the words and thoughts of the second affect the first. The opinions, thoughts, and words of family/friends/loved ones/acquaintances dominate any public, outside opinion to an indescribably greater degree. And the opinion of Endeavor's family about him is, shall we say… not the best. And as with All Might, Endeavor's "Healthy Family" mask has changed, perhaps. Also, as one of the brakes on his changes for the better, his obsession with being number one is his main motivator, and simply one of the main traits of his personality.

2.4 – "Is Hawks influenced by his public perception?"

I did not plan to include Hawks in my fanfic, so the only thing I can provide is my guess:

No, just as All Might has his injury, and Endeavor has his pride and obsession, Hawks has his double identity – these are some of the core qualities of the character, preventing him from changing too much.

2.5 – "Do the sexual implications of rabbits affect Miruko?"

200%. Society has an ingrained archetype closely associated with rabbits, namely their high sexuality, fertility, and libido. And Miruko fits this archetype perfectly, as fan works featuring her have proven time and time again. I will absolutely implement this idea sometime later.

If you think I misunderstood your question, please let me know and clarify in the comments!
