Following up on the points being made by Ashley and Karen, you ask what you mean to be a clarifying question. Robert flinches visibly, and in a second you know why. The whites of Jen's eyes have gone very wide and her face has very gone pale. Ashley smirks and states that she doesn't see how anybody could be confused about the point of contention, and Karen chimes in that somebody would have to be an idiot not to understand. Jen slams her fist on the table, rattling the nearby flatware. All eyes swivel to look at her, but she bites her lip, takes a deep breath, and manages not to give audible voice to visible scream contorting her face. "Can we please," she mutters through clenched teeth, "talk about something else?"
