Punishment in the Mage Tower (short story)

“Apprentice, as part of your punishment for disrespecting the elders and disregarding the rules you will stay here in that contraption until the hourglass is depleted.”

“Reflect on your actions and think twice next time before you claim to know better than your elders.”

“Maybe that will finally teach her to know some humility.” Another elder muttered, the one who insisted on the punishment.

Her master and the other elders left, leaving her naked and confined in the foyer of the tower for any passing elders and other apprentices to see.

Wizards believed that physical punishment was too barbaric, therefore the apprentice was instead punished via humiliation, that method was believed to be the most effective for female magicians and allowed for many creative applications.
