Public nudity and sex

In the world of EarthUnbound, there are no laws against public nudity or sex. For anyone in the world of EarthUnbound, seeing people nude in public, for whatever reason, is common enough that it is an entirely unremarkable event, hardly worth noticing. However, that doesn’t mean that everybody walks around naked, or that people are having constant sex in the streets.

Nudity

Most people wear clothes in the same way that people in the real world do. Actual nudism (whether in public, or simply full-time nudity in private) isn’t typical, but it is much more common than in the real world. A few true nudists will typically be found in any small town, and any city of decent size is likely to have a substantial nudist community, with some community-favorite gathering-places where it will be common to see many nudists. Therefore is isn’t unusual to see a nude person strolling around in public, although unless one happens to be near a location frequented by the local nudist community, this would be a relatively rare sight.

On the other hand, incidental nudity in public is so commonplace that it might seem odd to ever be in a place with a large enough number of people and not see at least a few exposed private parts, if one looked around closely enough. For instance, some avant-garde fashion trends might involve putting private parts on display, in a deliberate reversal of the social norms expected of clothing (e.g. a blouse with a cutout that showcases the breasts, or a dress that is sheer enough to see through, without undergarments). Also, because there is no real concept of body-shame or modesty in the world of EarthUnbound, it wouldn’t seem odd for a person to change their clothes publicly, if the situation called for it. Moreover, as you can read below, although sex in public isn’t commonplace, it also isn’t rare; this means that seeing people at least partially naked in order to perform sex acts isn’t completely unexpected.

Since there are no laws against nudity anywhere, all beaches are nude beaches by definition. With no concept of body shame to necessitate them, few people wear swimsuits other than swimming athletes. The only clothing likely to be seen on a beach are sandals and hats, and perhaps wraps designed to keep the sun off for those worried about sunburn. Outdoor recreation of any kind that isn’t being conducted in poor weather, or is harsh enough to require protective gear (biking, climbing, etc.), usually prompts situational naturism.

Public sex

There is no taboo against having sex in front of others in the world of EarthUnbound. It isn’t typical to see being rutting in the street, but to see a couple having oral sex in their seats at a restaurant, or fucking discreetly at the back of a room during a gathering at a friend’s house, would be considered totally normal. A person in the world of EarthUnbound would hardly take notice of incidental sex happening in their vicinity, unless there was something unusual or surprising about it, or they happened to get turned on and feel like participating or watching for their own pleasure. Seeing people fucking in public might elicit a casual glance merely because it catches the eye, but it’s practically as common as seeing people shaking hands.

On the other hand, commonsense social norms for proper behavior in certain social contexts do still apply. For instance, fucking loudly in your seat during a symphonic performance, or at a board meeting, would be considered extremely rude and gauche. You would likely end up getting ejected from the theater, or fired; not because you were having sex, per se, but because you were making noise and ignoring what was happening around you inappropriately.

Even having sex in a social setting where it would normally be considered acceptable (e.g. at a friend’s private home) would be considered rude if the fucking couple was ignoring expected socialization with others (e.g. fucking in the bedroom while the other guests were cutting a birthday cake) or was being disruptive (e.g. fucking loudly on the living room couch while others sitting around the room were in the middle of trying to hold a serious conversation).

Generally speaking, sex is a commonplace enough public activity that it’s not unusual to be able to look around and see somebody having sex at almost any given time, if you’re around enough people; but it isn’t so incessant that it disrupts normal work/life activity.

Privacy

The lack of body-modesty and sexual shame of any kind in the world of EarthUnbound means that it is much less of a social faux pas to walk in on someone—whether accidentally or deliberately—when they are naked or having sex. E.g. in the shower, in a changing room, in the restroom, while fucking, etc. It’s considered polite to respect a request for privacy (whether before or after actually walking in on someone nude or having sex), but on the other hand it wouldn’t be considered too offensive in most circumstances to push the boundaries a bit, either (e.g. lingering for an admiring look, making an admiring or lewd comment, or even briefly masturbating while enjoying the show).
