Propose a Plan - Make Him See that Dani is Relationship Material

“A simple problem like yours calls for a simple solution. If he’s looking for someone who can handle themselves in a relationship, then we show him that you can handle yourself in a relationship. So here’s what we’ll do. I’ll go on dates with you, scheduled so that they take place wherever he happens to be for a couple of times - it has to be conspicuous. Once he’s got the message, you can go talk with him and complain about how I dumped you. That should solve his question and get your foot in the door.”

“You think that’s really going to work on Matt?” Dani whispers, sounding rather hopeful. She falls quiet for a second, and you marvel at how she doesn’t even question the part where you go out with her.

“Of course it’s going to work,” you say, sounding much more confident than you feel. But even if it doesn’t work out, it still does for me, you think to yourself, because why not keep dating the guy you were fake-dating before, if he turns out to be a good person anyways?

“Then it’s a date,” Dani says loudly, drawing looks from people around the library - including Matt, who turns around and raises an eyebrow. “I’ll see you tomorrow night for dinner yeah?”

“Sounds good to me,” you say, putting your arm around Dani. She snuggles against you, peeking at Matt out of the corner of her eye, and she grins at you.

“I think it’s working,” she whispers into your ear. “I’ll figure out where he’s getting dinner tomorrow, and we’ll head there to eat, ok?”

“For sure,” you say.

With that, Dani turns, gives you a quick peck on the lips and a mischievous smile, and then gets up and leaves.
