Refuses to abandon his plans

Lord snarled as he spun around. "Supergirl!" he spat, defiance in his eyes. But then, as he looked up at the hovering Kryptonian and saw her eyes locked on to his chest, his expression softened. "Well, it seems you have the advantage over me!" He spread his arms wide, indicating he wasn't armed. "I'm just a forward-thinking entrepreneur with a vision for the future, Supergirl." He paused and indicated the lift that opened up directly into the top-floor office. "I'm happy to show you my lab yourself, if it will satisfy your curiosity." He tried a friendly smile, although there was more than a hint of wolf-meeting-sheep about it. "After all, what harm could I possibly do to the Maiden of Might?!" He slowly took a couple of steps back towards the lift. "And if you don't like what you see, well, you can try to destroy it. And what could I," he pointed at his own chest in a self-deprecating way, "possibly do to stop the Girl of Steel from achieving her mission?"

Kara was surprised at the approach Lord began to take. He smiled at her and grandstanded his way through the conversation, like he might do to just about anyone. Lord surprisingly offered to let her see his lab, and after he calmed any suspicions she might have she reluctantly nodded, and her eyes quit glowing red and instead returned to their natural blue.

Could his persuasion already be taking into effect? Shouldn’t she be more cautious about going anywhere with him? She didn’t know. But she quit flying and walked up toward him.

Kara gestured toward the exit toward his lab and nodded, “then lead the way.”

Lord nodded and signalled to his assistant to enter the secure pin for the lift. As the lift opened, Lord casually walked in and waited for Supergirl and the attendant to enter as well. Turning to smile at her, he locked eyes with Supergirl and gave her a polite-yet-intense look. The lift began to drop, and they could feel is speeding down, not just to the ground floor, but deeper into the bowels of the building. "I understand Kryptonians are immune to all kinds of physical ****." Lord murmured, not taking his eyes of Supergirl. "How very exciting for you. So much power. So little that I could do to you... physically... I feel so... helpless." His smile twitched a little, and he gave a small sigh. "Still, I'm sure once you see my lab, you'll come around to my way of thinking..."
