IB Day 10 - Keep your distance

You back up and do your best, but Karin scores anyway. However, you avoid injury and keep playing. It's a long, difficult game, but in the end you find yourself in the lead. It's not easy... and here comes Karin again with time running out. You saw it once before, so this time you know what she'll do. You fake her out, making her think it's going to be just like last time... then change course and block the shot.

Time runs out, and you win. The team rushes to you, and it's a lot of attention. Buzzing with pleasure, you watch Adella go to do her winner's interview while you go with the others to the shower. You barely notice all the hugs and pats you're getting.

It's a lot of excitement after a victory, so you can only imagine how noisy and crazy it'll be if there are stands full of fans. This is wild. In the shower, you're surrounded by your delighted teammates. Most are still replaying the game, which was a banger... but some are already planning out how they'll spend their weekend. You can't believe that worked, there at the end... you're just lucky that Karin is as arrogant as Adella, and just believes that everything she does will work. She's so powerfully athletic that if she starts using her brain, she'll be unstoppable.

As soon as you're showered, they're putting you on the bus to the Lodge. Jill sits next to you.

"That was really good," she says. You blush. It's such a direct compliment. But you're both tired. You enjoy the positive vibes and ride to the Lodge, where Jill takes the lead and signs you up to share her room. You rest until it's time for dinner, then try not to act too embarrassed when your teammates gush over your performance in the game.

You sneak a look or two at Motoko, who is eating with some other coaches and producers. You haven't forgotten. She's the calmest person in the whole Lodge. She doesn't appear to pay any attention to you.

"Do you think Motoko remembers?" you whisper to Jill.

"Already thinking about that?" she replies, and you blush harder. "Don't worry. She does."

"When should we go talk to her about it?" You're sure that Jill will make fun of you for being so horny, but you can't help it. It's so exciting to think about... it's been such a crazy week, and this win and all the excited people... it's just makes you feel that way.

"Maybe we shouldn't," Jill says.

"What?"

"It might be a test. We could go talk to her... but we're trying to show her how sexy and confident we are, right? Maybe we shouldn't look too needy." Jill looks at Motoko thoughtfully. "Maybe we should wait. She might come to us."

You did not think about that at all... Jill is so clever.

"What do you think?" Jill asks you.

Hmm. Make the first move? Or wait for Motoko?
