Lunch

An hour later, everyone met up for lunch.

"Now that we have settled in, I think it's a good time to divide the daily chores amongst ourselves", Zoe declared. "Does anyone have any preferences?"

You were always a bit lazy when it came to house chores, so you really wanted to get the easiest jobs.

"I think I could focus on maintenance jobs around the bunker. I could continuously monitor power generator performance, replace water purifier filters and fix other things that may break in the future", you stammered.

"That sounds reasonable, as you do have the most knowledge in this field out of all of us", agreed Jane.

"I admit that I was about to ask you this exact same thing," smiled Zoe. "That reminds me"- Zoe sighed with a worried look in her face. "With our current water usage, we only have enough filters to last us 5 weeks. I'm afraid we must shower less regularly, or we must share the showers, or else we are going to run out of clean water".

"Why not both," insisted Kate. "We should shower once every two days and two people at the time, this way insuring that we have clean water for a longer time".

"I can take showers with Jak-", Kate was making a statement, before getting interrupted by Zoe. "I will shower with Jake, allowing you and Jane to bathe together like you did when you were little", Zoe replied with visible concern in her eyes. You thought that Zoe didn't want you to see either of your cousins naked, and that thought made you internal chuckle, considering what you did with Kate just an hour ago.

You could see slight disappointment in Kate's face, but neither of you objected, because you couldn't come up with a good reason as to why the two of you should shower together.

"I am terrible at cooking, so I think I will do laundry," Jane declared, trying to make the conversation less awkward.

"I have never made anything other than pancakes in my entire life, so I will clean the bunker," Kate laughed.

"Fine, that leaves me responsible with food," your aunt chuckled.
