You go downstairs

Your aunt's car was in the garage, so you ran downstairs and straight into the kitchen to grab the car keys and the keys to the garage. When you got to the kitchen you decided to switch on the TV, because deep inside you thought that it was just some misunderstanding and the sirens outside were just some test or a mistake like the 2018 Hawaii false missile alert. When the TV sprung to life, your biggest fear came true, the emergency news broadcast was on the TV, and it was warning the viewers of the imminent missile attack. You paid no attention to what the news presenter was saying, instead, you were reading the message at the bottom of the screen "Seek immediate shelter".

You felt the weakness in your legs and fear possess you. Not only that, but you couldn't believe what was going on, you were begging someone to pinch you, so you could wake up from this nightmare. Instead, you felt a touch on your shoulder. You instantly turned around, it was dark, but the light coming from the TV revealed your older cousin Jane. She caught you off guard. Her hands were shacking and there was visible fear in her eyes.

"We need to go now!", she cried out.

You didn't reply, instead you grabbed her hand and started running outside.
