Billy found an empty spot on the beach, laid down a blanket his boss had loaned him and pulled out the food and drinks for the two.

“Do you always go this far to impress a cute boy?”

“No...” Billy said “to be honest, lot of the guys I’ve hooked up with have thanked me and walked away. My last boyfriend... didn’t work out so well. He was really clingy and jealous.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be... it’s in the past now. The evening is young and I have the sexiest boy on the beach as my date.”

Patty blushed at the compliment.

“I’m not that sexy...”

“Patty, don’t kid yourself. You’re fucking gorgeous.”

Billy ran his hand down the oth boy’s arm before leaning in and kissing him again.

“Come on, let’s eat before this gets cold.”

Up on the boardwalk, Jessie and Shauna were still shadowing the happy couple.

“Please tell me why you bought a newspaper?” Shauna asked.

“I don’t want them to see me.”

“You watch too much TV...”

Jessie scoffed.

“Just throw in the towel. Patty’s gay and in love. Why can’t you accept that and be happy for him.”

“Because...” Jessie said putting the paper down. “I’m in love with him... I know you are to and so are a lot of the girls.”

“Jess... this isn’t worth it.” Shauna said. “Give up. He’s gay. Move on. We’re on spring break. I am not wasting it on playing detective and spying on our friend.”

Shauna got up and walked away.

Patty and Billy finished their picnic and laid back on the blanket.

“You know...” Patty began “for a long time... I wasn’t sure what I wanted in life. Like... my friends, the girls I was always hanging out with... they... always teased me about the idea of hooking up with another guy. I kept trying to push those thoughts out of my head. Till I saw you.”

Now it was Billy’s turn to blush.

“You with your hair down and your chest bare... you made me realize who I am.”

“Well, I’m glad I could help.” Billy said.

“Billy...” Patty said “... I love you.”

Billy smiled “I love you two, Patty.”

The two rolled to face each other and shared another kiss.

“Your place or mine?” Billy asked

“Seeing as how I’m in a hotel with a bunch of girls... definitely yours...”
