After our meal, Vera arrived at school, we were going to our respective classes but Michael was still with us, when he saw her he certainly seemed surprised to find her in the state she was in.

Her hair messy, her clothes badly worn, overall she didn't look very serious, but what was really out of character was her demeanor, she walked slowly and she seemed bored and tired, however as usual nobody noticed any change.

Michael grabs you by the shoulder:

"Dude we need to talk... Right now."

"O-okay." You reply while he guides you to somewhere calm.

You go outside, next to the janitor's closet.

"What the hell is happening? John, did you do something to her?" Michael is looking at me with distress.

"What are you talking about?" You try to feign ignorance.

"Are you kidding me? Vera! She just changed!"

You can't hide your surprise, and he sees your expression as a confirmation.

"How did you do that? Why?"

"..."

"So it really was the forum thing Jessica sent me?"

You nod weakly, you can't really feign ignorance at this point, he wasn't even affected by the reality change.

"So what? The thing you write become true?" He's rubbing his forehead.

"Y-yeah... Kinda... If I spread a rumor it becomes true." You felt obligated to explain it to him, he's your best friend after all, he'll understand.

"Then you used it on Vera? What did you spread about her?"

"That she used **** at yesterday's party."

"Nah man, she didn't look like someone who did **** once. She wasn't the same person as yesterday!"

"Yeah... I spread the rumors but they can still change..." You try to explain.

"So this is dangerous? You aren't even sure you're not gonna fuck something up?"

"Yeah... I try to be careful..." You're embarrassed, you use your power all the time, this isn't careful at all and you know it.

"Damn... That's hard to follow I tell you..."

"Yeah..."

"Did you tell anyone?"

"Penny and Jessica both know."

You hear the bell telling you class will begin soon.

"John, we need to talk more about this, we'll have to meet during the holidays. I'll send you a text."

"Sure." It's been long since you've spent real time together anyway.
