What's next?
Kaylee's Gift
I locked the door behind me. My heart was racing as I watched Kaylee make her way over to my bed. She had that seductive sway to her walk. It was more pronounced now from the excitement she got downstairs. Spinning around, she took a seat on my bed. I think she was still surprised I was by the door because her head tilted slightly as she stared at me.
I had to force a swallow as I found the top few buttons of her blouse had gone undone. Jesus. Just looking at her got my heart racing and knees weak and she hadn’t even done anything major. The simple shift of her body language was enough to turn me into pudding.
“Scott.” Her voice was clear and held an air of authority. A single word and my back went straight.
“Y-yes?” I mentally kicked myself. When had I become a stuttering mess? I needed to get a hold of myself. I hated how I always fell apart around Kaylee.
Her eyes held mine as she poised herself gracefully on my bed. “Do you love me?”
“You know I do.”
Her hand trailed along the bed beside her. “Are you going to going to come over here and show me how much?”
I took a step forward. “I—”
“Stop.” My body froze in place at her firm voice. I gave her a confused look. “Before you come any closer, I need you to do something.” My heart thundered as I stood there, unable to say a thing as I waited for her to continue. “Downstairs. My purse,” she finally said. “I need you to bring it here.”
“Now?”
“Now.”
“Um…”
Her serious expression softened just a little. “Your gift is inside it.”
“You already—”
“Your real gift.” Her eyes never left mine. “Please?”
Nodding, I found myself backing away. I fumbled with the lock. Stupid damn thing. My hands were a quivering mess as I sheepishly darted out the door. I searched frantically for her purse. It wasn’t in the kitchen. The living room took a bit to search but I came up empty there too.
The den.
Approaching it, I recognized the noises coming from inside and groaned. Fuck. Of all the luck…
I was tempted to go back upstairs and tell Kaylee I’d get it later, but I knew that was a no-go. Something about the way Kaylee was acting made me think twice about abandoning this quest. Whatever was in her purse was important, and if things were going to proceed tonight, I needed her purse.
Deep breath, I steeled myself and pushed open the door ever so slightly. I stopped once it was enough to peek inside. There on the floor was Kaylee’s purse, right next to where she had been sitting. The relief that flooded through me was cut short by my sister’s moan and I found myself looking over to where I had last left them. The only reason I was looking was to make sure I was in the clear to sneak in and grab my quest item and bail. The last thing I needed to see was Paige spread-eagled on the couch, Caleb’s face buried in her crotch as he ate her out.
Face flushed, her eyes were thankfully closed as she thoroughly enjoyed the man’s efforts. A hand ran through her hair as the other ran over her covered breasts. Wet lips parted, she cooed his name and encouraged him on.
Knowing it was now or never, I pushed open the door and practically crawled inside. Grabbing the purse, I quickly reversed. Not daring to look over at the couple again, I pulled the door as I retreated. Leaving it cracked, I let out a long breath and stood up. Clenching the purse against me, I victoriously marched up the stairs to my room.
“I’m going to have mental scar—” I froze at the threshold of the door. Kaylee was on her side atop the bed. Replacing her clothes was lacy red lingerie I’d never seen before. It was astounding how so much cloth could cover so little. A thin red ribbon ran around her body culminating in a neatly tied bow sitting on her side.
Somewhere in there, I had dropped her purse. She gave me an amused smile, not moving from her place. “Going to just stand there all night, or would you like to unwrap your gift?” Dazed, I walked over towards her, only to get a tongue click and a finger wagged at me. “My purse?”
Fumbling like a drunkard, I managed to gather up the few times that had spilled out. In doing this, I remembered I hadn’t closed the door yet. Locking it once more, I clutched her purse against my chest and approached the bed once more. Her eyes followed me. No longer on her side, she laid back on the bed as she wordlessly stared up at me. The things she did to me. Even without words, so much was conveyed in her expression as she motionlessly waited for me.
For me.
There was only one man in those blue eyes of hers. Only one man in her heart and only one man could have her waiting passively on the bed. I saw it all. Felt it all. And it hurt. It hurt so damn much because I knew how much she loved me. I felt ashamed that I was the one dropping the ball and kicking it away. Yet she always went off to get it, bringing it back before passing it back my way.
I carefully sat on the edge of the bed. Twisting in place, I slowly reached out and ran my fingers over her arm. The heat radiated from her as my hand took its time exploring. Her shoulders. Her neck. My thumb brushed over her cheek as I caressed it. I could see the tension in her neck as she struggled to remain passive. To keep her eyes locked on mine even as my hands teased her skin.
I knew she wanted me to move onto the next step, but I couldn’t help myself. I traced the curves of her body. All of it so familiar, but no less exciting than the first time I’d experienced it. Kaylee wordlessly weathered it all, only a few soft whimpers escaping her as my hands skirted teasingly close to certain areas. Enjoyable as it all was, she wasn’t the only one growing impatient.
With a deep breath, I focused on the bow. Something about this whole thing seemed off, and it revolved around that tiny ribbon. There was also the mystery of her ‘real’ gift. She said nothing, simply watching as I tugged at the bow. It came undone easy enough. As it fell away, I found the whole thing rather… lackluster. Confusing rather. I wasn’t sure what entirely the ‘gift’ was. Maybe this was her way of letting me take charge again.
“In my purse.” I jumped at the sound of her voice. It was barely a whisper but sounded like a shout next to the tense silence that had been there before. “It should be obvious. I put a bow on it.”
Frowning, I pulled open her purse. It felt a bit disturbing looking inside it, but she was the one telling me to do it. Inside was fairly standard stuff I expected to see. There were an abnormal amount of condoms though. Did we really go through that many? Pushing them aside, I finally found what she was talking about. Pulling it out, I held it up to examine it.
“What is this for?” I asked, looking it over.
“Tonight.”
“We never needed lube bef—” It didn’t even take me until the end of the sentence to realize what it was needed for. Kaylee seemed to recognize my realization because her cheeks were starting to turn red.
“Scott.” Her voice was soft but immediately drew my attention. I felt her hand against my leg, but I couldn’t do anything but stare into those wonderful eyes of hers. “I always planned to save this for my future husband on our wedding night. Something special for only him.”
My mouth was like a desert as I felt the weight of this revelation. I could only manage a single word. “Kaylee…”
She gave me a sweet smile, reaching up to caress my cheek. “This wasn’t an easy decision for me. I don’t know what the future holds for us, but I know that I want you to be my first. And I don’t want you thinking this holds you to something. If for some reason things don’t work out between us in the future, I won’t regret giving you this.” Her eyes fell away. “There are a lot of things I know I can’t give you, but this… this is something special that only you will have. No matter what happens in the future, you will always be special to me. This is the only thing I can give to prove that to you.”
“You don’t need to prove anything to me.”
“I think I do.”
Hearing her say that stung. The last thing I wanted was to put her into this position and making her feel like I was testing her.
Telling her ‘no’ was impossible. After all this, what she was doing for me, refusing her now was out of the question. There was resolve in her gaze, and I wasn’t going to refuse.
Leaning forward, I kissed her.
