The TMD

John invented something called the TMD, or Time Manipulation Device. With this device, he could manipulate the time flow in a person's body and even mind control them.

The dial in the center was the time dial. If he pressed it, the woman would freeze, if he turned it to the left, the woman would be reversed in time. If he turned it to the right, the woman would be fast forwarded. If he turned it back and forth, the woman would be looped. And if he pushed it up, the woman would be reversed, fast forwarded, looped, or frozen forever.

There was a button on the bottom for mind control as well.
