Chapter 5

What should I do?
Check Status
This route will be a series of much shorter chapters, to allow for readers to make decisions on each Skill in order to give me a better idea on which ones are the most popular. I can't allow for full reader customization, as that would be cumbersome; making 33 chapters minimum to decide the allocation of each individual Skill choice and Skill point seems inane, so I will be formatting them in order to maximize customization without wasting time and making the story harder to navigate.

She's seemed patient so far, so I might as well take advantage of it. Plus, getting stronger sooner rather than later is probably a good idea.
Ripley Dewbend (Lv. 30 Tutor)

MP: 169/204
Skills
(Passive) Head Start: Initial level +30
Acquire Skill I (Cost: 150 MP): The user gains basic knowledge of a skill that a tutee wishes to learn. Requires at least one tutee.
Tutor I (Cost: 10 MP): The quintessential ability of a tutor. The user forms a tutoring contract with a tutee, granting the following benefits:
...
(Passive) Authority: The user emits a constant aura of authority, causing others to respect, trust, and submit to the user more easily.
Respect Your Betters I (Cost: 25 MP): **** agreement. Target will immediately give up on convincing the user. Has no effect on genuine feelings of target.

<29 Skill points available>
Alright, let's check out my attributes since I haven't looked at them before.
Attributes:
STR: 12
DEX: 17
CON: 11
INT: 19
WIS: 10
CHA: 6
Wow. The original attributes are a little insulting. Around 15 is the average for stat points for humans, and those are incredibly difficult to raise. Humans with around 100 attribute points are considered to be the highest level in their specific attributes. World-class human bodybuilders have incredibly STR stats around that level, and after passing 100 attribute points they are given a certificate by the kingdom to prove it. The certificate doesn't actually give you anything other than bragging rights, so I think it's a waste of time. Anyways, attribute points raise randomly on level-ups and the causes for them are uncertain. The current consensus is that strength training and calisthenics can raise strength and dexterity, while a variety of lifestyle choices are needed to raise constitution. Intelligence is gained through study, though none of the races have found a reliable way of creating the education system around gaining INT. Wisdom is the most confusing, some say it's naturally gained through age, others say it's just life experience. Charm is just how attractive you are in numerical form. The only issue is that certain people are attracted to certain things about other people, and preferences differ. On top of that, what is considered attractive changes over time. Even in the face of this however, charm never goes down. This is true for all of them. Unless hit with a debuff or affected by a curse, none of these attributes go down. However, this is only true for the solid attribute points. The auxiliary attribute points (the ones in the parentheses) can change all the time, though these generally have obvious causes. They're given by equipment, buffs, and other Skill effects.
For a start, why the hell do I only have 6 CHA? I thought I was average at least. Well, if nothing else, my INT is pretty high for a guy who's never done any training. Its reassuring to know that I'm not stupid, even if I'm pretty weak.
Skill Choice:
Command I (Cost: 70 MP): The user may give a tutee any command. They will execute this command better than they would have if they tried to do it themselves. It allows them to focus entirely on one activity. Will not work if they refuse the command.
Or
(Passive) Delegation: In the event that the user is watching their tutees engage in combat, and is not participating themselves, the user will receive immunity to all status effects, as well as all different types of damage and all different types of magic. The tutees will also experience a minor boost to attributes and skills depending on class and level.
Command seems like a waste of mana right now, but the only thing I can see improving if I level it up is the part about them refusing the command. If higher levels of Command can let me tell Lily to do any one thing, and she can't refuse? That sounds like a steal for only 70 mana. On the other hand, Delegation is absolutely amazing. I can just sit back and watch Lily do all the work. Monsters can't hurt me, and she can't complain because she's getting a buff too! Only issue is, I really don't want Lily to die because I was too lazy to help. Plus, if she or any other tutee I have in the future dies while I'm watching the battle, I'm pretty sure I'll lose my immunity too.
Which one should I choose?
