Forming ranks, Return to the Pocket Kingdom

Lex thought things over a while longer. He didn't want to put his family in danger, but being overly protective would be unwise in the future. He knew from experience and different tales, be it from video games, books, movies, or life itself, that sheltering others too much can hinder their growth and hamper their abilities. However, he needed to think about this objectively. Bianca, Divi, Gloria, and Sazla were more than capable of handling themselves in combat. Heck, Gloria was actually stronger than him in his current form. The only uncertainties were his kobold children and his sister Sofia.

Lex let out a soft breath while in deep thought. 'I should send Gloria to the coast. That is likely where the most resistance will come from. Sazla can tend to the injured and give her support.' He closed his eyes a moment. 'Bianca and Divi can protect the forest. That environment would do well for their fighting styles.' His eyes slowly opened. 'My kobold children don't even have classes yet, but this would be a good opportunity for them to learn about combat first hand. If they are anything like Sazla and myself. They will learn quickly.'

That was when Lex noticed Bianca's eyes were gazing into his with concern. He blinked twice before tilting his head slightly to the right. "Something wrong?" She lifted a brow while puckering her lips. "Your expression worries me. Did something bad happen?" He averted his gaze by looking downward. "Sorta. My kingdom is under attack." She continued to watch him with a puzzled expression upon her face. "What kingdom?" He used a mental command to open his inventory, reaching out a hand to pull out his Warpstone. "It's my pocket kingdom. You see, I can teleport myself and four others at a time to it with this."

Bianca looked at the stone before playfully glaring at Lex. "Hiding a whole kingdom from me? I bet there are a hoard of women trying to fuck you there too." He chuckled nervously while putting the Warpstone away. "It's not like that. I acquired it while you were away." She glared at him for a few seconds. "A likely story..." He lifted up both of his hands as if to surrender. "It's true. Honest!" She continued to glare, trying to discern his words and expression. "Hmm, I'll withhold judgement until I see it for myself." He smiled as his left hand moved to her right and gently squeezed it. "Of course. I was planning to show you anyway."

Lex stood up, pulling Bianca up with him. "Let's head back inside. I'll need to talk to everyone before we make this trip." She lifted a brow. "Wait, does that mean you are bringing your new children along too?" He squeezed her hand once again. "Yes. There is a lot of ground to cover. You'll understand once we get there." She leaned gently against him. "Okay, but I want a reward after this is over." He wrapped an arm around her waist before kissing the top of her head. "I'm sure we can work something out." She giggled as they went back inside.

After gathering everyone in the living room, Lex stood in front of them and started to explain the situation. Several minutes into the explanation, Sofia lifted a hand. "So this pocket kingdom of yours is under ****? Do we have any idea who the enemy even is?" He shook his head. "We'll find out once we get there." Gloria lifted a hand. "How will we know who is friendly?" He smiled. "Divi, Sazla, and myself have been there before. I know it will become apparent quickly, but follow their cues."

Lex looked around to make sure everyone was on the same page before continuing to speak. "We'll be divided into three groups. Gloria and Sazla will head to the coast. I am certain the Eurasians will need the most support. Bianca and Divi will head to the forest. The forest is pretty dense so be sure to watch your surroundings carefully. Sofia, Ziksa, Fauve, Torral, Dempsey, and I will move together to secure the supply lines. Our mission will be the most spread out, but I am certain we'll manage just fine. Any other questions?"

Dempsey lifted a hand. "Father, I don't mean to sound cowardly, but what can we possibly do to help?" Lex softly smiled. He walked in front of his son and lifted his right hand to Dempsey's left shoulder. "I want you and your sisters to watch, learn, and help wherever you can. I have faith that all of you are capable of great things. Just remember, everything has to start from square one. Oh, and trust your gut. It will never steer you wrong." Dempsey's eyes widened as his confidence rose. "I can do that. Can't we?" He said while looking to his sisters who nodded in agreement. Fauve playfully winked. "We got this. It'll be fun!"

Ziksa grinned, her body was shaking with excitement. "Our first adventure, I can't wait!" Torral had a puzzled look upon her face. "So many questions. Well, this'll be educational." Sofia felt slightly overwhelmed. "That's one way to look at it." Sazla warmly smiled. "My children are going to experience their first battle." Tears began to well up in her eyes before she sniffled. "They grow up so fast." Bianca began to nod, knowing exactly what Sazla was referring to. "Life is exciting. I remember my first battle. It was shortly after I was born too. Hmm, come to think of it. It was the same day I discovered I was a Temptress."

Bianca smiled playfully before looking to everyone. "It looks like we're all mentally prepared." She turned to look at Lex. "Should we bring any supplies?" He shook his head. "Each area has more than enough resources to work with. However, I have some extra supplies." He opened his inventory, taking out nine Lizardman Meat and ten Giant Crab Meat. "Divi and Gloria will hold on to these just incase." Without a word, Divi took the Lizardman Meat and Gloria took the Giant Crab Meat.

Lex smiled while looking over everyone once more before walking toward the door. "Follow me. I want to do this outside so it won't be as shocking." Shortly after, everyone followed him outside. He began to wonder just how bad things were in his kingdom. There were so many things that could happen, but to simplify things he thought about it in gaming terms. Would this be very easy, easy, normal, hard, or very hard? (Very easy would be simple enough for Sofia to do it by herself. Mind you she isn't really a gamer or fighter.) (Normal would be the same level of difficulty as it was when he originally arrived.) (Very hard would be quite difficult for his current level and abilities. Putting almost everyone at risk except for Gloria.)
