Keep Walking

No, not now. Though Wanda promised herself to make time for 'distractions' later. For now, at least, she needed medical attention. And so, Wanda kept walking, scanning the walls for any guide or signage as she went.

“Finally.” Wanda said to herself, as she arrived at a set of double doors with Medical Bay A written above them. Pushing the doors open, Wanda found herself in a long hallway lined either side with other rooms. At the end, was a small desk with a lone, male secretary behind at. And then behind him, was another door with a nameplate that Wanda couldn’t read from her distance. Deciding her only option was to speak to the secretary, Wanda strode up to the man’s desk and spoke.

“Excuse me?”

“Sorry, Ms Cho is not expecting visitors right now.”

“My name is Wanda Maximoff.” The witch said, the mention of her name clearly having a reaction on the secretary, who Wanda could now have a closer look at. Likely only in his late twenties, the young man, who Wanda guessed was around 5’9, had black hair and athletic build. Being in a seated position, all Wanda could see was the pristine white shirt he was dressed in.

“Oh, Ms Maximoff, you’re early and I thought one of the Avengers was bringing you here?”

“I came here alone. Will that be a problem?” Wanda said, trying to be intimidating, unfortunately for her it didn’t work.

“If you haven’t signed in at the main reception, then Ms Cho won’t be able to see you.” He said, while indicating behind him.

“I came here alone. Will that be a problem?” Wanda tried again, this time allowing her magic to swirl around her fingertips in a show of power.

“I-are you threatening me?”

“That depends, are you letting me keep my appointment with your boss?”

“It is a crime to threaten a SHIELD employee, you know.” The man said, somehow still confident in the face of an unregistered mutant.

“Guess I’m gonna have to try something else.” Wanda said to herself.
