With caution

Big boy steps out of the woods, the barrels of his mini-laser humming as they spin. He crosses the field without incident and enters through the gates. The bodies of men lay everywhere in the street.

The sound of crunching glass comes from his left and he quickly snaps his weapon in that direction. He doesn't see anything. Slowly he walks over to it and his eyes sees small foot prints in the mud. He tracks them and sees where they scamper behind a collapsed wall. He hears the sound of groaning hinges and then slam! Big boy rushes to follow the foot steps but they disappear into the pile of rubble. He moves some of the lose stone and brick aside and sees what looks like basement doors. This could be a trap. Opening it would be so loud that there's no way he could conceal his entry and his heavy weapon requires two hands to operate. He'd be defenseless...
