Madeline Uses Romance to Convince Janet

"Yes a Boomer." Madeline said smiling "His name is Jack. He watches you as your caravans go by Nellis. He is deeply in love with you."

"Oh my god." Janet said taking in a deep breath. "That Boomer! I...I...don't know what to say. I have seen him. From afar--through my binoculars. He really likes me?"

"He does!" Madeline insisted "He is smitten. He said you are the most beautiful thing in the world. He wants you to come to live with him at Nellis."

"Well they do have a pretty nice set up there. And gosh...he sounds so dreamy." Janet said, her eyes wondering across the wastes and staring into a possible romantic future.

Madeline dug through her things and pulled out the bomber jacket she was given.
