Chapter 5
by SeriousBrainDamage
How did the Sorceress plan to break her prisoner?
She began by introducing Rayla to some new friends
Presently, Claudia clapped her hands. Two guards, clad in a black armor from head to toe, entered the cell holding, one at each side, a little wooden table filled of what seemed to be various reagents and Dark Magic paraphernalia.
The men placed the table in front of the Sorceress, then bowed low and left the cell.
Through all this, Rayla was so intent analyzing the situation that she almost forgot she was naked in the presence of yet two more people, two Human males furthermore.
Almost, as once one of the two guards stole an indulging glance at her, she went beet red and crossed her thighs in the attempt to cover what little she could of her lady bits.
Claudia, noticing her embarrassment, snickered.
"You see, Rayla, this stuff is a personal invention of mine. You know, one could get very bored hiding in dungeons and caves for three years... But every tale has its bright side, right? I spent so much time with Master. He taught me so many things," sighed the Sorceress.
The Elf girl watched her grind what looked like the fragments of a brown horn in a pestle, then mix it with some thick green liquid and a pinch of a mysterious pink dust. After having inspected the result, Claudia's eyes glinted darkly as she recited an ominous incantation.
The vial glowed.
"What's that?" Asked Rayla. Claudia smiled wickedly. "I have decided to call it 'Green Morning Glory Potion'. Now, you may want to do that thing that you do with your legs again," she whispered before adding in a louder voice "Bring them in." At this, the same two guards of before came back through the door pushing three hooded figures.
They were Humans, young male Humans, noticed Rayla, all with their heads covered in a way so that they didn't seem capable of seeing anything, and wearing a simple loincloth and nothing more.
Judging by their physique and build, the Elf girl deducted they were simple peasants, not warriors. Probably prisoner just like her.
At Claudia's gesture, one the guard started removing the hoods from the three, while the other pulled out a long knife and started cutting the ropes binding their wrists.
The three looked at each other first, then the surroundings.
They were so confused and scared that they barely noticed the presence of the naked Elf girl.
Before any of them could realize the situation, Claudia spoke.
"Look at me, you lot. I am offering you the chance to earn back your freedom. Drink this," she said handing one of them the swirling concoction she had just now prepared. The Human hesitated. "You will have to spend the next twenty four hours in this cell, together with our beautiful Xadian guest, the Hero Rayla," said Claudia presenting the Elf girl with dramatic gesture. The prisoners' eyes went wide, they clearly hadn't noticed her attire yet.
This caused Rayla to wince and simper uncomfortably.
"Tomorrow morning," continued the Dark Sorceress, "At this exact hour, the first phase of my little experiment will end. Then, if you all will still desire so, you will be permitted to leave freely and unhindered."
The Humans exchanged hesitant glances. Rayla noticed that they were bruised and starved and actually looked no more than boys. She wondered how many days they had already spent in that dungeon. "You don't have to do this," she cried. "It's Dark Magic, it's dangerous! It will probably do something bad to you," she said earnestly meaning to warn those innocent peasants more than spare her from a yet unknown peril.
She had hated it at first when people from her village had started calling her Rayla Human-Friend, it wasn't a real honorific title rather just stupid a euphemism to mock the fact she was dating a Human, Callum, but little by little she had started to like it.
She liked Humans after all: they could be stupid, rash, greedy, cruel, but so did Elves, they just had to learn a better way to do things, and someone had to teach them.
So afterwards she kind of took on the mantle of being the one to foster friendship with Humans among the people of Xadia. It never became an official role, but the title Human-Friend stick and spread, especially among Elves, who still used it mainly as a dereogative.
"She is right, this is Dark Magic," admitted Claudia flatly, "The most incredible tool that humankind has been capable to develop. It has fed and sheltered our people for years since its discovery. Is that such a bad thing? Think of this, if I wanted you dead, wouldn't it be easier to let these guards pass you by the blade?"
After a long moment of pause, the prisoner next to Claudia took the vial from her hand. Instead of drinking it though, he raised it against the feeble light, as to ascertain the non lethal nature of the swirling liquid.
"You can still go back to rot in your cell, if you prefer," smirked the Sorceress casually inspecting her dark polished nails.
The young man shot her a scared glance, then brought the vial to his mouth and took a small sip.
"Pass it over to your mates, surely you wouldn't want to drink it all by yourself, do you? I wouldn't recommend it." Rayla watched the three prisoner empty the vial, the last one to drink, a chubby red-headed boy had to take a second swig to do so.
At this, Claudia stepped in front of them, and one by one, she inspected them closely.
"Great! No one is dead – check; no one has turned into a birch or an oak – check… Say, any nausea or dizziness? It should pass in a few minutes, but I have to know," she asked scribbling excitedly on a parchment. The three shook their heads.
"Well, looks like everything is working as expected," mumbled Claudia moving back behind the table. In doing so, she gave her back to the three man and doing so swayed her hips.
Suddenly, one of the prisoner, the last one to drink, the red-headed, freckle-faced farmer boy, let out a stifled grunt, his eyes widening.
He looked down at his groin, there his loincloth was now being stretched by mysterious protrusion. What kind of foul magic was that, wondered the Elf.
Was that some kind of weapon?
The others too looked more or less in the same situation, she noticed.
Actually, Rayla wasn't so naive about sex and Human anatomy that she couldn't guess what those bulges were and was certainly aware of what kind of things often happened to female prisoners in dungeons, yet presently her battle-oriented, straightforward mind still couldn't connect the dots in the proper order.
"This looks very promising," gloated Claudia," Now gentlemen, If you will excuse me, I have other matters to attend," she said after having finished jotting down a few more notes.
"W-Wait Miss-, err, Mistress... What did you do to us?" Asked one the three poor fellows.
"Nothing permanent, and nothing lethal... if I'm right, that is. I'm just testing a new, err, performance enhancer? Yeah, that sounds marketable. The effects should be gone by tomorrow morning anyhow. Probably."
"Oh my... it hurts, Mistress... What do you expect us to do until tomorrow in this state?" asked another pointing at his groin.
"Oh I'm sure you will be able to come up with something," smirked Claudia," If not, I bet this gorgeous Xadian prisoner could be of help, right Human-Friend Rayla?"
"What do you want us to do to her?" asked hesitantly the third in a lower tone.
"Do to her?" Claudia bursted in a coarse laughter, then, after she had calmed down, "Nothing! My my, why would I want you to do something to her, uh? She's so brave, and strong and beautiful, isn't she? Look at her. I said look," she ordered.
The three turned simultaneously making feel Rayla suddenly on the spot.
"You have been moved here just because, uh, we're doing some renovations in the other wing of the dungeon at the moment... Yeah, that's it, no other reason absolutely. I hope you can make yourself comfortable for the time being."
Claudia's excuse was pathetic, maybe she could fool three simple paesants, but not her, a Moonshadow Elf assassin trained in the fine art of deception, thought Rayla.
This was no mere coincidence, it was all clearly part of the plan, whatever that was, to make her submit.
The Elf girl watched the Dark Sorceress contemplate the situation she had set up in one last time while the two guards came in and removed the table form the cell, an obvious malicious grin was on her face.
Maybe she just wanted to pit the Humans against her.
But there was no way she would give her jailor the satistaction to see her scared, begging to know what she had in store for her, so she simply grinned back, defiantly.
The Sorceress expression changed into one of disappointed puzzlment, that was the last thing Rayla saw before the door of the cell was shut and its heavy metal bolt locked.
What happened after Claudia left?
