Who won?
Nacius still stands.
The Khajiit had tumbled it seems, the crowd began bickering again, even louder this time, you think it's safe to assume that most of them placed their bets on that cocky catfolk. Nacius was wheezing and grabbing onto his side, despite your warnings, he's pushed himself way too far it seems.
You step up to the man who was taking your bets and he gives you a hundred drakes, he even put them in a little leather sack. After you collect your winnings, you and Ulanna walk over to assist Nacius in getting out of the mashed up grapes.
"You fool! Sanna told you to not push yourself too hard, now your side is bothering you again!" You yell.
"Heh, lookie though... we got a good bit of.... bit of gold!" He managed to say through his ragged breathing.
You sigh and roll your eyes before you and Ulanna help him step out of the bucket.
"You aren't coming back to the healers Nacius, listen to Sanna, you might be feeling better, but your wound is still healing." Ulanna says.
The three of you stand there for a moment while Nacius is hunched over with his hands on his knees, panting and coughing trying to catch his breath. The khajiit that Nacius was challenging walks over to the three of you, in a similar state to Nacius.
"Ra'Dazza has... been bested it seems... good going there friend." He says before reaching out to shake Nacius's hand
Nacius looks up and wipes the sweat off of his forehead, then shakes Ra'Dazzas hand, grinning.
"I... I had a good time back there..." Nacius winces a grunts in pain, quickly clutching his side.
"Been a bit since I've done anything too intense... I gotta get back to it before I.... get all flabby." He says with a weak chuckle.
The pair quit shaking hands, Ra'Dazza looks to you and Ulanna and nods before slowly hobbling away.
"You know him?" Ulanna asks with a chuckle.
"Hah! He's probably from Rimmen with that attitude, lots of show offs over there." You reply.
Nacius straightens himself out and stretches his back, letting out a sigh of relief, but he's still clutching his side.
"So how have you been doing Nacius?" Ulanna asks.
"I've been fine, I admit, I may have overdone it there, but overall, I've been feeling better, just occasional soreness." He replies.
Ulanna puts on a familiar mischievous grin.
"How is it living with Sanna?" She asks.
Nacius squints a bit, he seemed suspicious of her questioning, and to be honest, you did too, she had that look on her face she would get before saying something embarrassing.
"It's fine, I have to get or make new furniture to accommodate two people, I only have one chair at a small table." He says.
"Hmm... How is it at night, Sanna keep you up?" Ulanna asks, that grin growing more and more prominent.
"What are you getting at Ulanna?" Nacius asks.
Ulanna chuckles. "Just wondering, I know how you two acted back with the healers, plus Sanna may have said something while you were doing your thing up there."
Nacius shoots you a surprised glance, you looked to Ulanna.
"Oh shush Ulanna, what do you get out of embarrassing the both of us!?" You yell
Ulanna laughs and crosses her arms.
"Just messing with you two! In all seriousness, I'm glad that the both of you are doing better, and are more or less happy with each others company." She replies.
You and Nacius sigh.
"Well, I'd better be going, I've got to go gather some ingredients for the healers, some orc got attacked by a spriggan and was stung by a whole hive of bees, I'll see you two around!" She says, waving to the both of you as she walks away.
You and Nacius wave back to her before turning to look at eachother, Nacius was drenched with sweat still, the crowd was dispersing, it was safe to assume that nobody else wanted to do some more competitive grape stomping after that.
"So what now grape slayer?" You ask with a grin.
Nacius chuckles and grabs his shirt, feeling how wet with sweat it is.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to go home and change." He says, with a disgusted expression while looking at his clothes.
You look around you, the crowd was almost completely gone now, to your surprise, it looked to be almost noon.
"Let's go then..."
You nudge Nacius and give him a seductive gaze.
"Maybe we can put that tub to good use, no?" You ask with a flirtatious tone.
Nacius blushes and rubs the back of his neck.
"T-that sounds nice." He says with a weak smile.
You laugh at his reaction before the two of you begin walking.
"You get flustered so easy Nacius, it is cute." You say.
"You are too, except sometimes you get aggressively flustered..."
He leans in his mouth close to your ear.
"And I find that quite sexy." He whispers.
Your tail stiffens as you continue walking, you feel your face warm up and you shoot an embarrassed glare at Nacius. He laughs and gives you a sarcastic pat on the head.
"There it is!" He laughs.
You didn't know what to do, you felt embarrassed that he found this behavior attractive, but as you got more embarrassed, you felt yourself get more aggressive, worsening the situation. Nacius notices how tense you are and places a hand on your shoulder.
"Relax love, I was just being honest, no need to overdo it now." He says with a chuckle.
You let out a few deep breaths which calms you down a bit, you look up at Nacius with a glare.
"Sanna hates you." You say trying to stifle a grin.
Nacius laughs which only gets you to laugh and ease up, before you know it, the two of you have passed through the city gates.
"So, you like the city so far?" Nacius asks.
"Sanna loves Skingrad, it is so different from Orcrest, she has seen Imperial buildings before, but none so beautiful as the ones in Skingrad." You reply.
"Like I was saying earlier, I have to take you to Anvil or the Imperial City sometime, if Skingrad is beautiful, you won't know what to do with yourself seeing those other two cities." He says.
"Why not any of the other cities in Cyrodiil?" You ask
"I mean we could visit them as well, but the rest of them just don't stack up to Anvil or the Imperial City in my eyes, especially Bravil, I'm glad you didn't end up going there, that place is a hole." He says.
You didn't know much about the cities of Cyrodiil other than their names. Nacius makes it seem like going to Bravil would've been a huge mistake.
"What is wrong with Bravil?" You ask.
"Hah! Don't even get me started!" He says with a laugh.
"Where do I begin, the fact that a good majority of the city itself is one giant slum? Or that the counts son is a skooma addict? Or that the count doesn't seem to know what he's doing?" He says.
"Yikes, maybe Bravil would've been a mistake for Sanna." You say.
You think for a moment about the other city that lies just beyond another border crossing to the south, Leyawiin.
"Sanna could've crossed the southern border into Leyawiin though, would that have been better?" You ask.
"Oh gods, Leyawiin, that place might just be worse than Bravil!" He says.
"How so? Sanna feels like it could make a lot of coin with its fortunate position on a border and on a main waterway." You ask.
"Well, I can really only say one thing that will completely dissuade you from ever wanting to go there. Beast race **** scandal." He says.
"What!?" You yell, recoiling in surprise.
"Yup, the former Count and Countess tortured the people they didn't like, which happened to be mostly Argonians, but Khajiit weren't exempt from it as well." He states matter of factly.
You begin to think, ****! Even though he did clarify that they were former count and countess, it still unnerves you to think that you could've walked right into that city.
"W-why did they **** those people though?" You ask.
"Something to do with trying to enforce imperial culture by any means necessary, kind of hard to do considering your city is sandwiched between two borders." He replies.
"Well what happened to the count and countess?" You ask.
"No clue, the High Chancellor took them somewhere and nobody has heard anything sense, my guess is that they're rotting in the Imperial City prison or something, that or are long dead." He says.
The two of you walk silently, the thought of Leyawiin clouding your mind, eventually you make it back to Nacius's little house, the clothes that he had hung up to dry were still slightly damp, but you think by the end of the day that they will be dry.
Nacius opens the door, letting you in first.
"Pretty ladies first." He says with a cocky grin.
"Always the charmer." You say entering before taking a seat on the bed, dropping your cane to the floor.
Nacius walks in closing the door behind him and plops himself onto his chair, taking a sigh of relief.
"Nice to be back here, alone, as much as I love the city, the constant noise can be tiring." He says rubbing his eyes.
You think for a moment, you felt like something was amiss, then you realized it.
"Damn it!" You yell.
"What's wrong?" Nacius asks.
"Sanna meant to gather some food to bring back here so we wouldn't have to huff it back to the city to eat!" You say.
You cover your face with your hands.
"She cannot believe that she forgot." You say to yourself.
"Calm down love, how about when I'm done washing up, I'll run back into town and gather some stuff, that okay?" He asks.
You look at him for a moment, you felt bad sending him back out on his own, especially with his side bothering him, but you hated walking with that cane, you hated walking for any prolonged period in general with your leg how it is. You didn't know what to say...
"Sanna doesn't know, she needs to think about it." You say.
Nacius stands up, walking over to you.
"Well, don't hesitate to send me, I don't mind it, it won't take too long, plus I know how much your leg bothers you." He says with a warm smile.
"Sanna will think." You say, smiling back.
Nacius walks over to gather some fresh clothing at the end of his bed, like the outfit he put on this morning, it was dusty and he had to shake it out. Nacius gets most of the dust out before deciding to head down to the tub, he looks at you before climbing down.
"So... you want to uhh, join me?" He asks, blushing...
Do you?
