Does Texas Surrender, or do things get worse?
No surrender, Georgia has to go and get them
Texas was stoic as ever, glaring out the window as she craned her neck up to look at the woman that was currently casting Gold Spring’s in a mighty big shadow! Her fists clenched, the slow countdown from the mare not getting into her, not raising her fear at all.
The same could not be said for April, whilst Texas was of course the main target, April had replaced Georgia as deputy…which no doubt meant the horse had a personal grudge against the fox. As such, she was sat at her desk, biting her nails and staring at the floor. Her usual optimism, which admittedly didn’t reach Texas’ own yet commendable nonetheless, had been shattered by the current threat.
“We gotta give up Tex, there ain’t no way we can stop her!” April exclaimed to break the silence, the countdown having reached ‘7’ by now.
“Ah knew I shouldn’ta let that sly Witch Doctor go free, no doubt this is her doin’.” Muttered the Weasel. “Mark my words” she continued, “if we get outta this mess then that Witch’ll hang”
By ‘5’ April was moving for the door, only to be stopped by the arm of Texas. “We ain’t goin’ out there, no sense in trusting Georgia’s mercy for compliance. That woman has as much integrity as Roxxie’s outhouse after a three-bean chilli bowl” she said through gritted teeth.
“But Tex! We ain’t got much choice, we’re toast either wa-“
“I think the good, honest-folk of this town deserve a little bravery from us right now April. Not that they’re plentiful, but I didn’t become Sheriff to surrender to the likes of simpletons like Georgia, even if she’s wielding an eighty tonne ass!” Texas spouted, cutting her off with a sense of pride, not an ounce of fear in her voice.
Bravery of stupidity made little difference, as Georgia finally hit ‘0’, “well, stubborn till the bitter end, eyy Tex? I’m sure Vivian won’t mind if I take this pest infestation into my own hands….a public service I reckon!”
April’s eyes darted for the door, could she stay strong in a moment that could be historic. Georgia’s gas stunk something fierce regularly, but at this size they may not survive!
