Gathering Evidence

Judy headed over to where the room began growing cold. She found that the source of the chilly temperature seems to be a door where one could see the cold air leaking out from the cracks in the door. Upon further inspection, it looked to be a refrigerator.

"Hmm..." She opened the door, looking in and seeing a number of trays holding multiple vials of unknown liquids. One batch was labelled 'Night Howler'.

"Gotcha." She reached in and grabbed a small tray of NH vials, taking them out and closing the door. "Alright, that's one thing down."

After acquiring vials of Night Howler, Judy decided to move towards the warmer part of the room, heading to where most of the case files are stored. She began filing through them, skimming through and reading only the most important parts.

Finally, she found one related to the Night Howler case.

...the substance seems to have been synthesized by a plant that originated from the Bunnyburrow...

...Bellwether is believed to be the head of operations for the creation of Night Howler, but also that she possesses connections that span the entire city.

"Hmm... Good to know. I'll be taking this." She grabbed the file and nodded. "Alright! I've got everything... I think."

Judy reached the entrance, finding the cheetah munching on a chocolate bar as he filled out a form. "I've got everything, Ben!"

He turns to her and smiles, finishing off his snack and licking his fingers clean. "Oh! Great!" He looked over the evidence Judy collected and nodded. "This is it, alright!"

Judy smiled as they left the evidence room. "Should I go ahead?"

"Sure. And I hope you feel better after that." The cheetah smiled as he patted her back.

"I do! Thanks a bunch, Ben." She headed off, handling the tray of Night Howler poison.

Judy walked along the halls of the precinct, absentmindedly thinking back to when she first appeared in public after saving the city.

She was nearly run over by the sheer amount of people who wanted an autograph or a pawshake. Fortunately, nowadays, everyone was a lot more amiable. Nobody wanted to be the one who flattened a city hero.

As Judy relived those memories, she remembered where she was and nearly ran into the wall with the evidence in her paws.

"EEK!" She squealed, halting and nearly dropping everything. She paused, waiting until her heart rate dropped back to normal as she inspected the tray.

Upon closer inspection, she found that nothing had actually fallen, allowing her a deep sigh of relief. However, as she looked closer, what she thought were vials with liquid actually had something else. The vials were filled with... blueberries?

"Huh? That can't be right..." She looked around before heading into a nearby storage closet, setting the tray down and taking a vial of the berries. She opened it, putting a few of them in her paws. She looked over them, sniffing them, and even popped them into her mouth before her eyes widened.

There was no mistake. These were regular, old blueberries, grown and raised from her home of Bunnyburrow.

"Did... Did someone switch the evidence?!" She panicked, the implications of such a thing running through her mind with one overlapping thought in the foreground: The Night Howler serum was gone.

Just then, she heard footsteps approaching the door.
