But Who Are You?
A Little Brother (Worm Web Serial)
Being the younger brother of Panacea and Glory Girl was a difficult thing to be, especially when you didn't have powers. Well it was difficult being the only unpowered person in New Wave, but being the brother of those two specifically was hard. Crystal and Eric, also known as Laserdream and Shielder, they were popular of course and they did a lot to help the city. But they weren't as prolific.
Panacea was the saviour of thousands of people. The best healer in the country, possibly in the entire world. She fixed people's lives with ease. Getting stabbed or shot went from life threatening to barely a threat when Panacea was on the case. Fixing genetic diseases that you didn't even know you had was the effort of maybe a minute at most. She could make blind men see, and lame men walk. Just a few weeks ago she had been out of the country helping a young boy who had been born with a condition where his heart was outside of his ribcage. Without her he'd have lived a terrible life always one accident away from ****. Now he would live a normal life thanks to her.
Glory Girl wasn't quite the life saving miracle that Amy way, but she was still the Golden Girl. An Alexandria Package, while also practically embodying the image of a heroine. Busty and with blonde flowing hair, flying to the rescue and beating down thugs and villains with ease as she battered her way through any problem. The PRT was constantly praising her, and there was barely a person in all of Brockton Bay who didn't know her on sight.
And then there was him. Little old James Dallon. The youngest child, by about 3 minutes, something Vicky never let you forget. Technically they didn't know what Amy's real age was due to her being adopted, but even she had eventually come around to Vicky's ribbing and started to call you her younger brother. And so it was. He'd left the womb last, and now that was eternally his problem.
Or at least it had been up until now. Because for the longest time, almost two decades of life, he'd never had powers. Amy got powers in a real life or **** situation, brought on by the desperation of almost watching Vicky die. That hadn't been enough for him. Vicky had it easy, she got her powers from being fouled when playing sports. That hadn't done it him either. No matter what happened, nothing ever seemed to be enough to push him over the edge. Powers just never seemed to come his way.
He lazily spun the pen in his hand.
Finally after all this time he'd gotten powers. Or rather this pen had powers. He wasn't quite sure if it was a Miss Militia scenario where he his power was an object, or if he had just happened to run into this pen, forget how he got it, and it also just happened to have incredibly powerful mind warping abilities. Either/Or.
He didn't know what he was going to do with it first. But he did know something for sure. Being a Hero was not on the cards. Firstly he had a Master power, which pretty much ruled the idea out entirely. Maybe he'd have been able to spin it if he was a Master that controlled something other than humans, but humans it was, and so his Heroic career was strangled in its crib.
There was surely those who when they had access to a power like his would refuse to use it for moral reasons. They would be altering the minds of other people for their own selfish ends, which went against the moral codes of a good 90% of the people on the planet. Masters did not normally live long, so simply refraining from using his power might have been the safer option. But Amy, Vicky, Crystal, Eric and even their assorted parents had always made it clear that powers seemed to want to be used. There was an itch, a drive, an impulse. Maybe it was just part of human nature though. He had powers now, and he couldn't deny the fact that he was almost giddy to use them.
So that left rogue and villain. And rogue... probably was about as likely as him being a hero.
So long to the family business of fighting crimes. Hello to committing them. But that could wait. Because right now there was a time for a bit of well earned catharsis.
It was well into the early hours of the morning, and that meant that everyone else was asleep. He had free reign of the house for a little while. Without hesitation and employing the greatest of stealth, he made his way out of his room into the hallway, and quickly headed down the hall to Vicky's room. The door squeaked a little as he eased it open, but she was fast asleep by now and didn't even seem to notice as he crept inside.
Vicky was beautiful. Sure she was scruffy looking right now, no woman looked her best when asleep, especially not someone who tossed and turned as much as Vicky did. He had a rather amusing story about the one time she and Amy had tried to share a bed together that he told at every opportunity since it was one of the few things he had that could embarrass his blonde sister. Suffice to say that after the number of elbows to the ribs she had received, Amy had decided she preferred having a separate bedroom.
But as he was saying. Beautiful. Golden blonde locks, soft lips, a sizable bust, and hips that could tell no lie. She was like a perfectly sculpted barbie doll. And wearing teddy bear pajamas too. She really was adorable like this. Too bad for her, she'd messed with the wrong little brother.
He made his way over to her dresser, opening her underwear drawer, and quickly applied his marker to work.
James Dallon's Underwear.
He scribbled it out right where it would be easily seen, writing on the drawer itself, but if he understood his power properly then she would still be **** to admit that he was the proud owner of all the underwear inside. And that meant it was entirely up to him to decide whether she was allowed to wear any of it or not. He smirked to himself. 'Have fun Vicky.'
He was going to exploit this for all it was worth. He couldn't wait for the morning. Either his home life was going to get a hell of a lot more amazing, or he was going to get put into M/S confinement.
He really hoped it would be the former.
