Take him up on his offer

You don't see why not, he's already dropped the whole illegal border crossing thing, plus if you run into any trouble, your dagger won't help you, you feel as if you might as well press the advantage and take his offer.

"Fine, but Sanna is still very VERY angry at you." You say with a stern tone.

He says nothing and continues to just sit there and watch the fire. You continue to hold the rabbit over the fire, turning it over every now and then to make sure both sides get cooked, you take the time to actually look at the Legionnaire now that he's taken his helmet off, studying his features.

He had black hair, green eyes, and a tired looking face, presumably from your well justified outburst. He wasn't bad looking, he wasn't overly gruff like you expected a Legionnaire to be, but he still looked like he could handle himself in a fight, his armor hid his muscle, but you could tell he was a big guy, pretty tall too, judging from earlier, or maybe it was that you're just short.

The Imperial looks up at you and meets your eyes. "What is it? You going to yell at me some more?" He asks, rubbing the back of his head.

"No, just getting a good look, this one is surprised with how clean you appear, Sanna expected Legionnaires to look dirty and gruff."

The man looks down at his helmet for a moment, then back up to you.

"Most of them are, I only just joined a few months back, some of them still have scars from the crisis, but that's mostly just the officers."

You raise your eyebrows in surprise, you were only a kitten during the crisis, the only thing you can recall from then was the panic you saw when one of those gates appeared outside of Orcrest, other than that, you can't really recall much else from that time.

"This one was young during the crisis, she does not remember much of it." You reply.

"My father was one of the volunteers at the battle of Bruma, he made me want to join the legion." He smiles after saying this.

"Although I did expect more excitement from this job, busting smugglers and drunken bandits isn't nearly as glorious as stopping a daedric threat" He chuckles

You shoot him a glare

"And harassing poor Khajiit travelers?"

His smile fades and goes back to an awkward blank expression.

You are still mad at him, but for some reason you are starting to feel bad for him, after all he was just trying to have fun with his job, a job that he doesn't really find exciting. Bah, what are you thinking! He is just some dumb soldier, once he takes you to Skingrad you'll never see him again! But you still feel bad for him for some reason...

Maybe you could try to make more small talk and lessen the tension at least? Or offer some food? You don't know, matter of fact, you don't even know if you want him to feel better...
