Daniel shares some bad news

Purposely choosing not to tell his friends about the football game beforehand in fear of embarrassment, Mark also ignored his best friend Daniel.

Little did he know, he was in need of some support last night. The multiple missed calls from him was probably the first sign for Mark but he chose to ignore them due to how focused he was on playing in front of a home crowd.

The next morning as the two had coffee at a cafe on campus, Mark found out that Daniel’s girlfriend had dumped him yesterday because of the ‘long distance’ relationship.

“It’s not even fucking long distance,” he complained to Mark, “We still live in the same fucking state, just a god damn cop out from her.”

“Look at the bright side man, better to find out she’s not the one for you now than at the end of college where you’ve wasted four years sleeping with just the one person, all for nothing,” he said, trying to cheer him up and think about the positives.

Daniel just half shook his head, not feeling great about the whole situation. “I don’t know... it’s just shit man, I don’t think I even want to go today.”

“Nope, I’m not hearing that man, you have to! Now more than ever do you need a day out to drink and socialise or most importantly... fuck someone.”

Whether Daniel wanted to come or not, he didn’t have a choice with Mark pushing him towards it. After a tiny bit more persuading, Mark and Daniel went back to their rooms to change into their outfits for the day. Brown coloured Lederhosen costumes over the top of white shirts. Long white socks to match the outfits made them stare in the mirror with a bit of angst, not particularly loving how they looked.

However, everyone at the Oktoberfest festival would be also wearing the same outfits so they weren’t worried about standing out.

Once changed, Mark met back up with Daniel at West Hall, this time he was also greeted by Maple and Eliza, also attending this festival. It was an early taste of the treats that would be on display today, the girls looked fantastic in their German bar maid costumes. Their pretty red skirts, white low cut tops, truly an impressive sight.

“Girls! You look great!” Mark said, giving them both a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

“Aww isn’t that sweet Mark, you boys look very handsome too,” Maple replied.

Mark took a second to look at Daniel, trying to half wink at him, just a signal to show him the sort of thing that was back on the table now that he was single again. However, the look on his face showed that he wasn’t really considering it right now.

“Should I book a taxi now?” Eliza then asked.

It was time to drink beer like the Germans.
