Applications of Mental Boosts

History with the teacher who's moving speed is equal to the speed of his speech making it impossible to keep track and actually learn a pretty inefficient teaching method really. This would be the another class that would put me to sleep. Oddly enough this time he appeared to miss a cup of the airship fuel he calls coffee because I can finally understand him, I can even recall some of the events he's actually referring to for once.

So I saw it fit to actually write down some notes it wasn't much I did get a good amount of notes a few pages worth. I would have continued to write mors but my pencil was just about gone and I was out of paper space. Which is just about where Professor Oobleck stopped his lesson to call me out.

"Ah Mr. Arc glad to see you are keeping yourself occupied with my class but do try to pay attention." He tells me as he zoomed to my seat

"Uh I was. I was just writing down some notes." I say confused

He quickly swiped up my papers scanning each one as he shuffles through them.

"Hmm my apologies then I'm impressed with the amount you have written so far." He quickly says

"Carry on then."

"I uh kinda ran out of paper."

"Oh well then how about you just answer a few questions for the class?"

"All right?"

"What natural defences does the kingdom of Vale possess that has protected it from your above the average grimm attacks."

"The large mountains that act as high walls that keep grimm far out of range from sensing negative emotion stopping any large mass of grimm. Along with the shallow waters that prevent any large leviathan class grimm from coming too close without detection giving Vale more than enough time to prepare and attack. With out them we'd be very defenceless as evident from the near by the unfinished construction expansion of Mountain Glenn." I answered

*Silence*

"A bit more worded than need be but yes every kingdom has it's natural defences and as Mr. Arc just explained in detail high mountain ranges and far shallow waters are Vale's. It would also seem I don't need to ask the other questions." Oobleck told the class moving on to the rest of the lesson

If I looked around I would have seen a majority of the class staring at me with exceptions of Nora and Ren.

Pyrrha taps my arm getting my attention, " Jaune how did you know that?"

"The text book." I answered

"Jaune I haven't seen you pick up a text book for two days."

"So I just remembered it."

"You skimmed it."

"Miss Nikos, if you are quite done I'd like to continue." Oobleck called out

We separated and Oobleck continued his lesson. What Pyrrah said though did make me confused was it really that long I do know I didn't care for it at the time but I remember it so clearly. Now that I think about it every page I looked at seemed very clear as if I could recite the entire pages. My mental boost. It made my memories seem so clear right now I've never experienced it this long before or used it outside of fighting.

I'll need to test this later.

*RIIIING*

I put away my notes and while I do so I now see that Oobleck wrote a little message "keep up the improvement*" some part of me was proud of this acknowledgement.

Nora and Ren already on their way out followed by Pyrrha this time. Yang comes to me again.

"Brains and bronze you're becoming the full package, you gonna make Weiss feel like she missed out."

"As if, a Schnee does not regret a rejection over their little self improvement." Weiss says this followed by a elbow to her ribs by Ruby

"Wow Jaune you sounded like you really knew what you were saying I'm pretty sure you answered questions Professor Oobleck didn't even ask yet." Ruby said distracting from Weiss

"You've definitely improved rather quickly." Blake inserted

We all make our way out the just me and team RWBY. I think they may notice some kind of divide in my team

"So Jaune anything new going on?" Ruby asked.

"Not really I've changed my training routine and have focused a lot on boosting all my qualities."

"I've noticed you're making quite the turn I'm sure snow angel here has too." Yang says with a wink

"Ugh. Any way you have a noticeable amount of improvement if that grimm and loaded answer you gave was anything to go by." Weiss complimented

"Hmmhm." I hum

A small shock to Ruby, Weiss, and Blake but a smile from Yang at the little reaction I had to a compliment from my ex crush. Weiss furrowed her eyes and looked like she was about to speak until Blake spoke

"Speaking of combat our class with GoodWitch is next I'm curious as to how you fair against a fellow student armed." Blake added

Yang was talking about how she would would go unarmed if I did, then Weiss was telling her to not stoop to my level of reckless abandon etc.

I enjoyed these talks with my friends.

But, for now I have combat class to get to where all students fight eventually every class or so and for the first time I was excited to face my opponent.
