IB Day 8 - For Motoko to be attracted to you

"The second one," you say after thinking about it.

"That's honest," Jill says. "I don't think it's weird to have a crush on Motoko. She's pretty sexy if you like them scary."

You didn't mean to say that you have a crush on her. You are not sure about that. You just want to get closer to her.

Jill looks thoughtful and kicks her feet, looking up at the sky.

"What kind of girl would Motoko like," she muses. "She'll want you to be womanly."

"What?"

"Trust me. And she'll want you to be down to Earth. You can't be wearing crazy heels or looking at your phone all the time. You have to live in the real world and get things done. You can't be vain. You have to be useful."

"How do you know this?" you ask her.

"I'm just guessing. But think about it. Can you see her liking someone who's totally superficial and just wants likes on Insta? No. And she likes the cuties, not the butch ones. I've seen her looking," Jill adds. "So you have that covered. And you want to get her attention."

"I did not say that," you say quickly.

"Yes you do. You have to show her that you're working hard, but you have to look good doing it. You've noticed it, right? Even in workout clothes, Motoko always tries to look fabulous. She cares about her appearance a lot. She will like it if you do the same thing. Good, but not flashy."

"You are good at this," you say.

"We don't know if I'm right yet," Jill says. "We should step up your look. You're already pretty when you aren't trying. I bet if you try, Motoko will have to notice."

"You think so?"

"Yeah, but... you'll also have to play the part. The clothes are only part of you. You have to get confident. Instead of being embarrassed or thinking too hard about everything, you have to just jump in. She'll respect that," Jill predicts.

"OK..." you say uncertainly.

"So should we go shopping?"

"I cannot ask you to give me more of your time," you say, embarrassed.

"We have time before dinner. I want to," Jill says. "Why shouldn't I do what I just said to you? We can both do it. Shopping's fun. Now I want to see if I'm right. Maybe I can get Motoko to notice me. She's Japanese. Notice me, Senpai." She laughs. "It'll be fun. I need a break anyway."

A break from what?

"Let's go," she says, taking your hand.
