The following morning

After their night of sexual adventure, Mark and Jess found themselves some alone time in the river the next day, discussing the events of the night before.

They floated around in the water, enjoying the cool water on a warm summer’s day.

“Have to say, I’m pretty impressed,” Jess said, her pretty eyes hidden behind some dark sunglasses, “Didn’t expect to see that side in you.”

Mark smiled, “Well what can I say. I’ve been waiting to do that for a long, long time, you have no idea.”

“That’s not the first time I’ve had a guy tell me that,” she replied before diving down in the water. As she appeared back above the surface, her sunglasses remained on, in the perfect same position. Her long dark hair now completely wet, it was such a sexy look.

Mark felt his heart skipping a beat as he looked at the gorgeous brunette. This actually wasn’t a good thing, he could see himself falling for her, perhaps he already was. She just oozed of sex appeal and that had him very much hooked.

Knowing well and truly that Jess was not looking to settle down with anyone at this time. It was just a recipe for disaster, a recipe for heartbreak.

“What are you thinking about?” Jess suddenly asked him, noticing he was deep in thought.

“Honestly?”

Jess nodded, “Well yeah of course,” she responded.

Mark began to speak, knowing well and truly that this may just make things more awkward, “You. I’m thinking about you again.” The response made Jess raise her eyebrows slightly, clearly interested.

“Me?” she asked curiously.

He took another deep breath, “Yep. And I know you’re not going to like this but I can tell you right now that I feel myself falling for you. And yes, I know you wouldn’t want a relationship anytime soon but I just have to ask.”

Jess paid close attention to him as he spoke, seemingly floating closer to his body in the water.

“Would you ever see yourself dating me down the track or anything resembling dating?” he boldly asked. She showed him plenty of respect, nodding as she thought of the words to tell him.

Mark felt their bodies ever so slowly, floating towards each other.

“Well,” she started off saying, “I’m a Sophmore now, maybe, and I mean maybe, when I’ve finished my senior year, maybe we can come back to this conversation. There’s no reason why I couldn’t see us being together then.”

He smiled back at her, that was a pretty good answer that he liked to hear. She was open to the thought of it. Obviously Mark knew that Jess wasn’t going to want anything now but knowing that she was open to the idea of something in the future was nice to hear.

“But make sure you enjoy yourself too over the next couple of years,” she added, “I just don’t want you to put all your eggs in one basket.

Their bodies edged closer again, now virtually close enough to be touching each other.

“I appreciate your honesty Jess, completely understand everything you’re saying too,” he replied back to her, “I’d love to come back to this convo down the road.”

Jess then leaned in and gave him a single kiss on the lips. “Thanks for understanding.”
