To dream the impossible dream

Kisa had several things she wanted to do in life. Things that she was quite horrible at. Just like a dream they were diverse and whimsical, yet focused on one truth. The desire to be better than she was yesterday. To prove to herself that she was more than an artist. This didn't mean she didn't appreciate her talent. Quite the opposite. It was the only true blessing she had in her life. It not only paid the bills, but she enjoyed every minute of it. However, she wanted more out of life. She wanted to be able to shoot for the stars, serve up divine dishes with any ingredient, and maybe. Just maybe, pet her neighbor's adorable dog. She didn't know why, but most animals didn't like her.

Kisa sniffled to herself while thinking of the last horrifying experience of having her neighbor's long haired chihuahua barking its little head off at her. When she accidentally got too close, he almost bit her too. She felt it might be her lack of confidence, luck, her charisma, or a combination thereof. However, today would be different! She nodded to herself as she brought up her right hand into a fist. "You got this Kisa!" She grinned slightly before moving to get up. When she did, her computer screen awoke from sleep mode. Upon seeing the light from the screen, she stopped in her tracks.

It wasn't unusual for Kisa to fall asleep at her keyboard, but it was unusual for a message to be awaiting her when she awoke. Hmm, it was from her online bestie, Izzy_botum. Although it was slightly embarrassing, she felt Izzy was her only real friend in the entire world. She scratched the back of her head while reading the rather unusual message, "Hey Odna_asik, um. Don't freak out, but I felt a strange vibe coming from your location. Is everything okay?'. Hmm, Izzy was normally fairly accurate about such things, but what made this message even more unsettling was the time it was sent.

After verifying the current time, which was 9:48 a.m.. It was clear that this message was sent a few minutes after she passed out, around 3 a.m.. Kisa wasn't sure what to make of this. When she went to reply, she noticed something else that was unusual. Under the typing area it claimed that Izzy was still typing. She smiled to herself. "Did you pass out too?" She reached out a hand to caress the screen. "That's so sweet of you. Thank you for always looking out for me." After taking her hand back from the screen, she started to type out her reply. "Don't worry about lil old me. I just passed out in my computer chair again. I hope your face didn't end up on the keyboard again. ;P"

Kisa smiled before hitting send. A few seconds later she decided to write another line. "I think I may be dreaming, but I'll tell you about it when I wake up. Oh, and I hope you didn't end up with keyboard face. :3" She closed down her programs and shut off her computer before getting up to stretch. A soft yawn escaped her lips while her body trembled from stretching. This **** her eyes to close for a few seconds. When her eyes reopened, she noticed the optional section of her quest included cleaning up her room before working on the rest of her quest.

Kisa sighed softly as she moved to clean up her room. "Hmm, this sounds more like a chore list than a quest." She tossed out the various wads of paper first before placing her dirty clothing in a nearby laundry hamper. After that she put away her relatively clean clothing into her dresser before organizing her books. Once this was done, a new red exclamation flashed that she allowed to pop up. At the same time, the optional section of her quest crossed itself off and a notification appeared in the center of her view.

Kisa lifted a brow after reading all of that. Did her achievement seriously give her sass? She shook her head. It was likely some preprogrammed message that meant nothing. After realizing this, she looked over the rest of her quest. Eat and drink something, take a shower, and get dressed. Hmm, she normally didn't shower, but that was because she didn't feel she had a reason to do so. However, if her skills Gamer's Life and Imagination were correct. She might be able to learn an important skill today. One that would bring her one step closer to realizing one of her dreams.

Kisa started to giggle while thinking of that. 'Yes, fear me world. I will be one step closer to being full of win! Mwhaha!' Her cheeks reddened upon realizing the ridiculousness of what she just thought. "This is just a dream. Don't get too excited." She gently smacked her cheeks twice before walking out of her room and into the hallway. To her right were a few doors, the middle one led to the bathroom, the left led to the laundry room, and the door to the right led to the guest bedroom. However, down the hall to the left led to the front door, back door, kitchen, living room, dinning area, and the garage. She turned to her left and walked through the hall toward the kitchen.

Upon reaching the kitchen, Kisa opened her refrigerator to look at what she had to work with. She saw a carton of eggs, milk, several cases of soda, a few sleeves of cheese, and a container of bologna. She normally didn't eat the eggs. Although they were edible, she couldn't cook. As such, she gave them to a stray cat that came by from time to time. A smile over took her expression as she thought about that. Those were nice moments. She even got to pet the cat once before it jumped back and hissed. It was clearly afraid of her presence.

Kisa sighed softly while wondering. 'Am I some sort of monster?' Although this thought saddened her, she smiled after shaking her head. "No, I bet that cat has just been mistreated. That poor kitty." While she spoke, she reached for the eggs, a couple of sleeves of cheese and the container of bologna. After setting them on the stove, she took out a small frying pan and a small container of olive oil. There wasn't much left, but it would have to do. She poured in the oil before cracking open the eggs, tore up the cheese and bologna then turned on the heat to medium.

While that started to cook, Kisa got a can of soda from the refrigerator and cracked it open. Chugging down a few gulps before letting out a breath of relief. "Mm, that's delicious and feels so good! ♥" She licked her lips lightly before walking back over to the stove, setting her soda on the other side of the stove top. She watched carefully as the eggs started to cook, but felt a strange urge to turn down the temperature and fold the egg over. She rushed to do just that before feeling another desire to flip it over. This was after another 15 seconds. Roughly 15 seconds after that, she brought out a plate, sliding the successfully created beautiful, fluffy, and tasty looking omelet onto it. When she did, a new red exclamation flashed that she allowed to pop up.

Kisa was somewhat surprised by what she read. A few tears began to well in the corners of her eyes. This was a surprise, she actually did it. She sniffled once before wiping away her tears. At that moment, she realized there was another important test left to perform. This test would reveal if she had been truly successful or not. What was this test? It was a taste test of course! She put away her remaining ingredients before taking out a fork to try her dish. After cutting a piece off, she brought it to her lips and thought. 'Was I actually successful? Or does it only look good on the outside?'
