Chapter 4 by Stephendings Stephendings

What do you do?

Tell her how much you like her.

“I’m feeling better,” she says. “Thanks so much for helping me, I’m lucky that I bumped into you.”

“Yeah, I’m really sorry about that by the way,” you reply. She stands up to go, but you grab her hand to hold her back. “Hey, I just want to let you know that I think you’re...” You interrupt yourself with a gulp. You start to sweat.

“What is it Chris?” she asks with a sly smile.

“I think you’re just, amazingly beautiful, and I’m sorry I bump into you, but I just feel, like, a really strong connection with you. Gosh, I hope I don’t sound weird.”

She giggles at you. “You’re adorable,” she says.

“Thanks,” you say with a dopey smile as she pats you on the head. You look down, staring at her shapely legs. She lets you.

“You can have my number if you want,” she says boldly.

Your jaw drops. “Really?”

She gives you an overly serious look. “As long as you promise not to knock me over again!”

“I promise!”

“Alright, deal.” You both take out your phones and exchange numbers. She pats your head and pinches your cheek as you smile. It kind of hurts. You part ways.

As you walk out towards a different exit, you notice a pink bag on the floor. Tina must have left it behind, you think to yourself. You pick it up and snap a photo of it from the outside. You send Tina the pic when you get to your car.

“Forgetting something?” you add to the text.

You drive home and bring the bags to your room. Your phone died on the ride home, so you plug it in and put the bags in your closet. You have dinner with your parents, play some video games, then go up to your room and check your phone. You see three messages from Tina:

“Thanks so much! Please don’t look inside!”, and...

“Hello?”, and...

“OMG I’m so embarrassed. Write back!”

What do you do?
