Awkward to begin with

Once they were both at the table it was pretty normal. Zack stopped freaking out he'd been stood up even though she actually arrived early, Amelia just glad she'd found the place in time. They had a corner booth so they had their privacy, but looking around Amelia noticed this seemed to be a feature of this side of the restaurant, all the tables were high backed and private, allowing up to 6 people.

Conversation at first was a little awkward and nervous as they got used to being in each others physical company, their relationship up until this point having been through text and online chat. Once they began to relax and having ordered their meals Zack began to ask some questions that had been burning away at him

“So you've been here a few times before right? Do you have any particular favourites?” Zack asked, hoping to hear something about her previous exploits here.

“Well to be honest I'm usually on the other side of that wall” she replied pointing over to where the members only side “so the menu is a little bit different”

Zack's face fell a little when it began to dawn on him he might've made the wrong assumption

“But..but I'm having a nice time here with you” Amelia offered, misinterpreting the expression that crossed his face.

“So you haven't ever been on this side before, or seen much of the centre?”

“Nope, this is actually my first time, it seems a little..I don't know if this is the right word, strange?”

Uh oh, Zack thought, his plans and hopes for the day quickly evaporating before this eyes

“Strange?” he attempted to ask in his most normal voice “Strange how?”

“Well I was kinda surprised at the clothes some people were wearing I guess, is there some kind of event going on today?”

“No, I don't think so, I mean they could've been coming from the Cosplay shop I guess. So you've never really been here before, or really heard about it?”

“No, but I've always wondered what else the place had to offer, that's why I'm so excited you asked me here”

Now Zack had a problem, does he ease her into it or give it to her straight?
