Run after the dog on foot

Clarice quickly decided to run after Champion. If she got to the dog before he got far she’d be able to bring him home, keep him in the back yard, and figure out how to get back inside. If she stayed there who knew how far Champion could get before she’d be able to look for him. They could even lose him forever.

There was a pair of flip flops Clarice kept by the back door for whenever she needed to clean up the dog’s leavings. She quickly slipped them on. Dressed in nothing but her flip-flops and a badly fitting towel, she ran to the side of the house and out the gate.

The front yard was empty, and so was the street in front of the house. Clarice ran to the sidewalk and looked around, trying to find and sign of the massive dog.
