Chapter 21 by gunde gunde

Who disturbs the peace of the small secluded island?

The Guardian

Startled by the sudden sound of a another man’s voice, Druuna yelped and rolled off Shastar, landing on her side in the soft sand which covered the small island.

Her face struck with terror, Druuna looked in the direction from which the voice had been heard, and found that it belonged to the Guardian, who had seated himself on a bunch of rusty pipes which shot out from the wall, his short legs dangling in the air. From where he was seated, the stocky little man would have had an excellent view of Druuna’s ass as she made love to Shastar.

“What are you doing here?!” Shastar cried out, although his voice was not reflecting anger so much as relief at the fact that it been the dirty old man who had interrupted their time alone together and not someone a lot more dangerous.

“Never mind that!” the Guardian replied, releasing what Druuna suspected was either a laugh or a long series of coughs, or possibly both. Druuna could hardly have believed it possible that the man’s face could look more wrinkled and convulsed than it normally did, but this was exactly what happened when he laughed.

“I remembered that Lewis had me tell you sumthin’, and figgered I mustn’t interrupt you two, so I waited till you ‘re done.” With this explanation being offered to Shastar and Druuna, the Guardian swung off the spot where he’d been sitting and landed in the water with a large splash, releasing a short giggle as his legs were submerged in the dark water.

“And what was that?” Shastar asked, while Druuna was busy trying to position herself so that as little as possible of her naked body would be visible to the man.

“Hehe, would you that I told you?” the Guardian offered a little gibberish before adding; “He wants you to check your backpack once you get up.”

“Yes, we know. He told us.” Shastar was now sound quite annoyed.

“Did he?” The guardian looked confused for a moment, before his face once formed itself into a mask of gleaming lewdness, “Well, it can’t hurt, me telling you again.”

“No, was there something else you wanted?” Shastar asked.

“Me? Oh no, don’t let me bother you…” The guardian announced with a short laugh, and then set off back the way he’d come, his short frame swaying to the sides as he waded through the water.

“I’m not so sure that he’s as funny as he thinks,” Druuna declared, once the guardian had disappeared into the darkness.

“No,” Shastar agreed, “let’s get moving though.”

After planting another kiss on Druuna’s plump lips, Shastar broke away from her just as she was about to place one hand on his cock and got up on his feet, his hard member bobbing gently in the air as he moved.

Finding it incredible that he could remain so erect even after he had just filled her up with his seed, Druuna laid back and watched as Shastar got dressed, making no effort to do the same.

“Are you coming?” Shastar asked her, noticing that she was still lying on her back in the sand.

“No, I’ll think I’ll stay here,” Druuna announced, and followed up with a short giggle before finally pulling her undershirt down to cover her breasts like a second skin, her nipples remaining very easy to spot through the garment’s thin fabric.
Knowing that Shastar was watching her get dressed attentively and silently, Druuna made sure to take her time in pulling her g-string the long way up her legs, then adjusting it until its thin front was covering her pussy, flashing him a not at all innocent smile before donning her denim hot pants.

Getting up on her feet, Druuna embraced Shastar and planted a kiss on his lips, a kiss which had been intended to be a short but which quickly developed into something which lasted for quite a while and was soon accompanied by the two of them exploring each other’s bodies with their hands.

“We’d best get going,” Shastar insisted, after having broken off their lengthy kiss, “or else we risk staying here for quite a while.”

“Yes,” Druuna agreed. One part of her felt that she and Shastar should stay there on that little subterranean island, under the first tree that she’d ever seen, that the two of them had a right to be selfish and just enjoy one another for as long as they liked and not care about anything else. Druuna’s one desire ever since she’d cured Shastar had been to be with him, but it seemed as though they were always being **** to go somewhere.

Still, the part of her which insisted that what she and her love was doing was of the utmost importance, and possibly involved ensuring that at least some small part of humanity could survive the ravages of the dreaded sickness, won out in the end and she soon found herself wading after Shastar through the water, heading in the direction which the Guardian had instructed them to go in.

The dwarf’s instructions proved correct. After having walked in a straight course through the new tunnel, Druuna and Shastar found themselves at the foot of a ladder which ran up to a metal basket mounted into the wall just below the tunnel’s domed ceiling. The contours of a round hatch could be seen just above the basket.

“I’ll go first,” Shastar decided.

“The hell you will,” Druuna’s voice was unusually firm as she protested her lover’s decision, “you’ve got that backpack and the rifle to carry and I’ve got nothing but my clothes. I’ll go first and open that lid.”

Before Shastar had had the chance to argue with her, Druuna had begun her ascent up the ladder, beginning the twenty-yard journey up to the ceiling.

Despite the heels of her boots, Druuna managed to carry out the climb without it being too arduous, and she heaved herself up through the whole in the metal basket with Shastar following just below her.

Getting up on her feet, and battling the urge to look below her or to indulge in the horrific fantasy of what would happen if the rusty basket collapsed under her weight, Druuna reached up and clasped hold of the hatch with her hands, yanking it open even as she felt a strange smell flow through the small holes which were drilled into the circular hatch.

As she yanked the handle, Druuna found that this made the hatch rise upwards until it was perfectly vertical, and she squinted as this caused the sunshine to flow in from above.

After a quick glance towards Shastar so make sure that he was still following after her, Druuna climbed up the second, significantly shorter ladder and then rolled out onto an oddly soft surface.

The smell which she had sensed earlier was much stronger now, and for a moment she felt quite alarmed about it, but then she looked around to find that she was sitting in a veritable sea of green. Realising that this sea was composed of a multitude of unusually thick, pointed strands, and guessing that they were the source of the smell, Druuna slowly came to understand that what she was seeing was grass, but not in the shape of the thinly spread out smatterings of dry, yellow leaves which she was used to.

“Shastar, it’s grass!” Druuna exclaimed with much enthusiasm.

“Yes,” Shastar replied, sound a lot less enthusiastic, even if he was glad to see Druuna so happy.

As ever being a lot more practical that Druuna, Shastar headed out to examine their surroundings as she remained seated, slowly running one of her hands through the grass as she began to understand how radically different the world outside the city was to the one inside them.

It was only when Shastar called her name that Druuna got up and headed towards him, climbing up on of the low hills which surrounded the meadow into which they had emerged from the underworld.

Combing up next to him, Druuna found herself looking out over low grasslands which turned into dirt as it flowed into the shadow cast by the city’s walls. Never having seen them before, Druuna found the walls to be a horrific sight; thick, weakly sloping slabs of yellowed metal which separated the city from the walls outside. She soon found herself wondering if there were humans guarding the walls, and if so how they handled seeing this vibrant landscape day after day.

Following Shastar as he let out a collected “come on”, Druuna soon was liberated from having to see the walls as he steered down onto the meadow again and proceeded to follow Lewis’ instructions to check through their backpack.

Spreading out the two blankets which had been rolled up and fastened onto the backpack, Shastar quickly unloaded its contents until the two of them were glancing down on a vast collection of equipment. Apart from the high-energy ration bars which Druuna had seen soldiers and guards eating from time to time, Druuna didn’t really recognize any of the items gathered on the blankets. What she did recognize however was the pair of g-strings and the flimsy white top which she’d seen Lewis stuff into the backpack. She didn’t know where the old man had gotten hold of them, but she was grateful to him for providing her with some nice spare clothes.

“Do you know what all this is?” She asked Shastar.

“Pretty much, yeah,” he answered, before proceeding to open the larger of the two metal boxes which had been stuffed into the backpack and finding it to contain eight doses of the cure, while the smaller one turned out to contain one more dose and a note, which Shastar went on to read.

“What does it say?” Druuna asked, already knowing that it was from Lewis.

“It says that we’re to give two doses to someone called Mordecai when we reach the first settlement, and that we’ll get directions to the next one there, the people who we give the cure to will know how to duplicate it and produce larger numbers of it.” Shastar read directly from the letter.

“Each first dose of the cure is to be followed by a second one about twelve hours later, when a purple mark has showed up where the first dose was administered. The ninth dose is meant for me.” Shastar continued.

“In about nine hours time.” Druuna guessed. Since Shastar had been in his mutated state when she administered the first dose, neither of them had any idea of where on his body that she’d inserted the needle.

“Yeah, just after midnight.” Shastar agreed, although neither of them possessed a watch with which to keep track of time.

The two of them cooperated in loading everything back into the backpack before setting out on their journey to the unnamed settlement that the map would lead them to, with Druuna remaining fascinated by the landscape, at one point picking up the first flower that she’d ever seen, which had its purple petals form the shape of an old bell, while Shastar made sure that they weren’t followed.

During their eight-hour journey, Druuna and Shastar saw no one, not a mutant, not an animal and not a single human being, and the two of them felt as if they were now alone in the whole world.

The two of them camp on the top of a low hill, the slopes of which were so cluttered with rocks and shrubs that it was unlikely that anyone would manage to climb up it without them hearing it, and then Druuna went on to have Shastar strip out of his clothes, ostensibly so that she could find the purple mark.

Druuna then dropped onto her knees in front of Shastar, and went on to wrap her hands around his cock, silencing his protests before he’d gotten the chance to voice them. Firmly but gently, Druuna used her hands to stroke Shastar to full hardness, letting out a sultry “There…” as the first drop of pre-cum oozed out of his pisshole, and then abandoned his rock-hard dick to find the mark.

It was located just below his left shoulder blade, and Druuna inserted the second dose into the exact same spot before stepping back, knowing that her previous question if he’d be further effected by a second application of the cure would soon be answered.
