What’s next?
Prepping for war
Shastar didn't waste any time in getting dressed and so did Druuna. Her favorite combination consisting of a low-key 3/4 jeans and buttoned tank top had been lost along with other things in the building where she had been fucked by the soldiers. Therefore she had to go with a replacement.
Still high in spirits and quite in a sinner's mood, she picked something which even she considered daring. After kicking her running shoes into a corner, she slipped into one of her trademark g-strings, which rode high over on her thighs and almost completely vanished in he crack of her remarkable behind. Next she donned denim hot pants, that were cut-off so high the swell of her ass spilled out, but also had such a low waistline her black string would always peak out at her waist. On the top of it, the front zipper had no latch to cover it and didn't fully close. It certainly screamed 'open me!' - an effect Druuna was very much aware of. As a top she choose a simple, white undershirt which might have been modest - if it hadn't been at least one size too small. With no bra underneath, Druuna's perfect globes strained against the fabric with yet another clear message: 'Take me out and play with me!'. As she admired her sight in an old, scratched mirror, she caught Caliban openly staring at her - with more than just his usual business-first interest. Druuna pulled her shoulders together, lifted her arms to adjust her flowing hair and presented her mirror image a sinful smile. Caliban licked his lower lip. Such was the kind of reward that made Druuna beam with life.
"Don't you think you're exaggerating, you little vixen?" Shastar chided. He had dressed himself in his casual street clothes, more made for adventure than an afternoon's stroll down the road. However the bulge in his jeans was not be easily overlooked.
Druuna laughed and turned towards him. She placed her hands at her hips, provocatively tilting one side and smiled wickedly. "Wanna make an attempt to find out if I do?"
Shastar smiled back. "Not now, hon'. Maybe later, when we return."
"Ahem. Well, if that's settled, we might get going," Caliban intervened. Druuna didn't miss the croak that blurred his words at the beginning, before he finally could clear his throat. Her eyes sparkled - she could get used to see the boisterous young trade taken off guard.
"I just need to get some footwear," Druuna said. "Then I'll be ready too."
"Hurry up then." Shastar adjusted his trench coat before opening a wooden chest that was halfway hidden behind the bed and hauled out a heavy calibre revolver. He plugged it into the back of his leather belt. Next he added a carton box full of cartridges to his equipment, which he hid in one of the pockets of his trenchcoat.
"Good choice," Caliban commented, flashing his own small arms arsenal.
As the men started to discuss the pro and cons of different handguns, Druuna scurried to another wooden chest in the rear department of the apt. Smiling in anticipation she opened it. Here she kept her very own arsenal. She didn't need to search for long. Deep from the bottom of the box, she took the boots she had decided to wear: White, patent leather boots with laces from bottom to top, which ended just below her knees, and broad, five inch heels. Unregarded by the two men, she slipped into them, tied the bootlaces and stepped back into the centre of the room. The sharp 'Clap-Clap' of her plateau soles had their heads spinning around in a second.
"Wow," Caliban hissed. "That's what I'd call 'dressed for war'."
Shastar had himself a tad more under control. He just raised and eyebrow and rolled his eyes. "Damned, Druuna. What are you up to? We're not going to a dance club, we're bound to places jam-packed with junk and debris. You're just gunna break your legs, if you'd have to run in these."
Druuna shrugged. "I haven't got anything else. My running shoes suffered a cut today and I don't wanna risk to injure my foot on a rusty piece of metal junk." A brazen pout accompanied her lie.
Shastar looked to the corner, where her shoes were lying. He wrinkled his nose. Finally he shrugged too. "Aww, your choice."
"Good."
"But put on something less eye-catching. At least until we're safely through the perimeter of the sector guards. "
Druuna nodded. That made sense. She already had had her taste of guards for today. She picked a hooded cloak of her own from the chest behind the bed and threw it over her shoulders. The cloak went down to her calves, enough to conceal most of her form and attire. However, it was clear to al three of them, that her white leather boots would still attract interest. On the other hand, there were way enough other freaks out there in the streets - one more or less might not be that ****.
Eventually, they left Druuna's place and started out into the streets. As a matter of course, Caliban took the lead, Shastar right at his side. Druuna followed behind. She noticed that both men were poised for defence at any instant. It was a strange feeling to wander the streets of her sector like this. Druuna was used to blend into the maze of broken buildings as if she wasn't there. Their current procession made her feel uneasy. Every patrol they ran into would surely want to have a closer look at them.
Despite their evident attentiveness, Shastar and Caliban resumed their discussion. Only this time, they didn't talk weapons.
"How did you find Druuna?" Shastar asked.
"Actually I didn't find her. Let's rather say, I stumbled into her." Caliban paused. "And at quite a perfect timing, I might wanna add."
"Hmm?"
"Well, your lovely girlfriend had managed to attract the attention of a sizeable number of not that friendly people. Mostly men. Do I have to say more?"
"No," Shastar snarled gruffly. "Thank you, man."
"I owed you that one, Shastar."
"Consider it settled then."
"Fine."
"Furthermore, I suppose you gave Druuna the serum to bring me out of... that state."
Caliban nodded. They marched on, words unspoken hanging between them. Then, after a about half a minute silence, they started again almost simultaneously.
"Shastar, I..."
"It's something special, right?"
"Yes, it is."
"Where did you get it from? Him?"
"Aye. You know how he's always searching for new ways to fight the disease."
"Of course."
"Well, it's one of his most recent recipes. I asked him for some details, but he wouldn't tell me much. All I know is, that this special cure taps on the primal urge of human nature, kinda strengthening it, so that it acts as a catalyst for the immune-system to drive back the symptoms of the disease."
"Only the symptons, or also the disease?"
"Honestly, I don't know. I wager, our friend actually wouldnt know either. I suppose it's a very new experiment."
"Do you know of any side-effects?"
Caliban couldn't help but turn his head to look at the bulge in Shastar's jeans. "Well, you know, what shall I say?"
"I see." At this point, Shastar decided to change he topic. "Where will we meet him?"
"At his lair."
"Really? Damned, then things aren't looking well."
"No. The priests finally appear to have made the removal of his head their most important issue. They have bolstered up the sector guards both with governmental units and two dozen mercs. Latter have been pushing hard into the deserted sectors. They've already scoured The Refinery. Now they're investigating even deeper. They've suffered some losses by renegade mutants. The priests have been using that to promote their cause. As a result, militia forces have joined them, mainly as scouts."
"That will help 'em more than another score of guns."
"Yup." Caliban sighed. "These days, our friend just can't risk to leave his lair. In fact, I was quite surprised when he asked me for this errand. He risks detection if we come up with a surprise entourage."
"Then it is up to us to prevent this."
Caliban nodded. And more words weren't necessary to be said.
All the while, Druuna's curiosity had been wakened. Who was that 'mutual friend' Shastar and Caliban were talking about? What had he done to bring up the whole administration against him?
And was there maybe a way to a cure for her lover's disease?
Will they safely get to Shastar's mysterious friend?
Druuna
