Chapter 2

Crushed, Who, How?
Arvin, By...
Things were a bit bizarre for Arvin.
After swallowing a fly while riding his bicycle, he coughed his throat out and went to the creek.
But his careless neighbors and this road-side small pond meant it was highly polluted. Although the pollution was only a little, anyone would think twice before washing their mouth in it.
“Dast my duck, een my bottor idh enty, Ah!” not wanting to smear his mouth with this disgusting fly, he cursed with his throat and jumped out when he saw the pond suddenly glowing.
Then again, when he jumped out, the glowing vanished.
“Hmm~?” while letting out a wondering tone, Arvin touched the water once again.
This time, there was no change.
She sighed in relief. Without a doubt, his eyes played tricks on him. But when his thought returned to clear water and a green hue highlighted the pond, things seemed to click in his mind.
“Yeah, it’s that.”
Arvin quickly reached a conclusion.
He was, without a doubt, hallucinating.
Remembering the fly he swallowed, it didn't trouble him to reach that conclusion.
"But hallucinating right after swallowing a fly? Did I already digest that shit?" he wondered.
What’s more, his hallucination seemed to affect reality.
How?
That’s because when he decisively tricked himself that it was clean water and was about to gurgle, the green light faded as a big [Clean +1] floated above the pond.
Arvin's hand in the pond froze. He gazed below and realized tiny gray wastes were submerging from the water.
Arvin pulled his shaking hand back.
The words disappeared, but the tiny water wastes were slowly submerging below the pond.
Arvin looked up.
Yes, the sun was shining so brightly that it was burning his skin. His fingers poked on the small cement platform he was sitting on.
Unfortunately, his finger didn't pass through the little ‘wall.’ The hope of this being a lucid dream shattered entirely.
After a few more shocked minutes, the tiny gray wastes stopped drifting. Although it was only slightly cleaner than before, one wouldn’t shy away from touching this water.
He wished to avoid touching the water. But the probable origin of the fly both disgusted and **** him to gurgle.
How he returned home and fell asleep that morning was a blank in his memory.
Refreshed and sane, he went back to the pond later that day.
He realized that the pond was indeed slightly cleaner.
What?
Did he suddenly gain a superpower by eating a fly?
No wait, since it was such a disgusting small fly, maybe he got one chance to clean something?
It was extremely feasible, but damn, he wasted it on this useless pond. If he knew before, he would've used it on his underwear!
Nothing was better than underwear that couldn't get dirty, or well, less dirty. At least he wouldn't have to wash it while bearing with the smell.
Thankfully him being a freelancer saved him from the nightmare called socks.
“Well, that’s how life is; it sucks,” Arvin said his prayer to the imaginary [Clean +1 Underwear] and moved on.
At least, the little pond got slightly more pleasing to the eyes.
But life didn’t follow his imaginary script and his common sense fell apart when he muttered, “Damn these tiny letters. Only if I could add [Big +1] on this little shit.” Followed by the familiar green hue, the small notebook in his grip slowly but undoubtedly, grew in size.
And above all, the white [Big +1] floated above the book.
With a shaking and quivering voice, Arvin cussed, “Shit, was it three wishes? Can’t be unlimited, right?!”
“What?” since he cursed in Engrish, his mother, Sanai, questioned.
“Nothing, I’m sure you can’t see that,” by that, he meant the floating words.
His contempt-filled word naturally pricked the mother’s pride, “Huh, what do you mean I can’t see. Do you think your mother, I, has bad eyes or can’t read Engrish?
“Hmph! When you were a kid, I’m the one...”
As his mother continued her nagging, Arvin pitied his ears and focused on where he would use the probably last modifier ability.
Maybe the underwear after all?
Wait, maybe his PC?
Performance and [Stability +1] should do a good job, right?
He instantly headed to his room; just then, the sharp voice of his mother caught him, “...re you even listening? Where are you going? I’m still talking with you!”
‘Ah, right, you just don’t stop when you get like that.’ Arvin rolled his eyes and gave an excuse, “Mom, I just remembered I have an assignment tomorrow. Good night. Take care of your health.”
Now then, he had to think about a great attribute for his babe.
Babe? You're kidding!
