"Before we meet Gillian," said Michael. "Let's run over some quick rules you are to abide by. And believe me when I say you will follow these rules to the letter."

"Sure." Rowan said.

"Rule one: Since Gillian is your step-mother, that technically makes me your dad. And you will love and adore me and always obey me, but be bratty to Gillian every chance you get."

"Okay."

"Next, you will frequently be punished by Gillian, and you will **** yourself to take them, no matter how brutal."

"Okay."

"Third, we have two slaves here, and you have authority over them. Believe me when I say they will obey your every order."

"Cool."

"And finally, you love going out with older, rich men despite Gillian's protests, and will do so if we are out on date nights. And believe me when I say you love flirting with older men to have them take you out."
