The Passing Week

The week flashed by quickly. For the moment, I was taking things a day at a time. Taking time away from Kaylee was giving me the space I needed to think. It wasn’t like I was avoiding her or anything. I still walked her to class in the morning and talked to her after school as well as video calls and texting after school. There were some changes, like me not hanging out at her practice or going home with her. Not sitting with her at lunch was a big shift. Sam and Ally were amazing and were becoming fast friends. Actual friends, unlike the tepid relationship I had with Kaylee’s teammates. Friends that could laugh and joke about interests they had in common with one another.

Kaylee still hadn’t come over to say hi, or even mentioned me sitting at another table. Not once did she ask how Sam and Ally were, or if I was liking it over there. I think she expected me to come back and start sitting with her again, but I knew the first time I’d met Liam’s friends that wasn’t going to happen. I’d become a member of their group chat too, and god damn those girls could meme. If I didn’t have Kaylee, I’d be fighting Liam for the two.

As for Liam, we were hanging out a bit more after school which was a plus. I think he was nervous about his upcoming test, and I did my best to take his mind off things. I still didn’t know how to help him on the Ally and Sam front, but he seemed happy. I didn’t know how things would turn out between the three, but I got the feeling he was enjoying things as they were without stressing too much about what they could be.

Kaylee and her team won their next game. Only a few more wins and they’d be entering the championship undefeated. I did join her for her teammates' celebration afterward but didn’t get to talk to her much. I made it a point to choose the opposite side of the table than Zoe, putting as much distance between us as possible. There was a conflicted look on her face as she struggled to decide who to sit by. The choice was made for her when Zoe roped her into the seat next to her. For me, I spent most of the time fielding subtle and not-so-subtle offers from some of the team members I wasn’t that familiar with. That damn rumor about me was out of control. I was getting better at tactfully turning them down, but that only seemed to be increasing the allure. This false reputation for being a sex god was turning into being an unobtainable sex god, which for some reason caused girls to want me even more.

It was not something I asked for or even wanted. Another guy might have loved the attention, but to me it was nothing but a headache. Maybe if the rumor was true things would be different. As it was, Kaylee was more than I could handle. Besides, I was already dating the hottest girl in school. Why would I be interested in anyone else?

Zoe had pushed for Kaylee to join her and a few others for some post-celebrations with James, but she flatly refused. When things began to wind down, Kaylee dragged me home and proceeded to make good use of the condoms she’d bought. I let her use me to her heart's desire. Pushing myself, it took three times but I left her gasping for air and most importantly, satisfied. The following morning was a bit of a fumble, but she enjoyed the attempt.

Saturday, we went our separate ways. She had plans with her friends, and I made plans with Liam, Sam, and Ally. It felt weird not doing something together, but it faded quickly once I met up with the others. It was an absolute blast. I was still a bit concerned about the lack of non-sex activities Kaylee and I could bond over, but that was a work in progress. Right now, things were good. There were potential problems on the horizon, but I saw them coming and was actively working on solving them. There was still time, so it wasn’t like I needed to panic or anything.

If things kept on like this, the last bit of high school was going to be perfect.
