After Voldemort lost Harry was convinced to repeat 7th year but he was honestly relieved to have some 'down' time at school before any more large decisions.
That Hermione and Ron returned with him made it better, and he and Ginny were even back on after all the stress. Things at school were even calmer then he would have thought, the really bad people where in Azkaban or gone from the war and the troublemakers that were left quieted down after seeing true evil.
Of course all this calm doesn't make Harry as safe as he thought, not when he could be drawn in so easily by a pretty face, even if he doesn't know it yet.
