Calling Jess

For the rest of the drive home, Mark continued to weigh up his decisions. The idea of finally going all the way with Jess was probably the key motivation for his choice. That and the fact that a trip overseas would be a once in a lifetime experience.

Wanting to get the bad news out of the way with first, Mark contacted both Tiffany and Winter to let them know that he couldn’t make it to either Hawaii or New York because he was going to Australia for New Years Eve.

Eventually it was sure to come out that he was doing this because of Jess but he decided to leave that part out, at least for the meantime.

Sitting at home on the first night back in San Fransisco, Mark headed to his bedroom to give Jess a call.

He searched her up in his contacts and clicked on her name to give her a call. It worried him for a moment with no answer but she picked up just in time.

Jess: Ahh Mark, miss me already?

Mark: Just wanted to give you some good news, that’s all

Jess: And that is... ?

Mark: I thought about your offer and I’ve decided that I’m all in on this Australia trip

Jess: Really? You’re actually going to come?

She sounded quite surprised, it was like she didn’t expect him to be interested enough to spend a lot of money on travelling overseas just to hang with her.

Mark: Yeah, is that still cool?

Jess: Yeah, of course! You want me to just text you the details?

Mark: That would be great, do you know what day you’ll be heading there and where?

Jess: Leaving on the 26th, I’ll be getting a flight to L.A and then going from there. And straight to Sydney from there.

Mark: Alright sounds good, just send me the rest of the details and then we can go from there

Jess: No problem babe, talk to you later.

Everything was falling into place, the next thing to do was to find out if he had enough money to actually afford the trip.
