Departmental Meeting

At the next departmental meeting, Sarah described her current research and asked for volunteers.

"This will be on a volunteer basis only, though of course our findings may be incorporated into the guidelines. Significant involvement will mean your name can go on the paper" she said.

"We will video your sessions and ask the gentlemen in the study to view them later, then rate them according to various criteria. This will be done in a lab, so we can also measure physiological response."

"The videos will also be online for home viewing, and we'll keep further track of statistics so that we can understand the dynamics at play."

Natalie, who had already promised Sarah to volunteer, made a show of doing so during the meeting. This caused a minor cascade of associate professors and graduate students to volunteer, trying to gain favor with the boss.

Back in her office, Sarah sorted through the list of volunteers, and started working on release forms for the gentlemen who would be involved. 'I'm going to need help,' she thought. She scanned the list of volunteers, looking for an unaffiliated graduate student. She saw Angela Washington on the list. 'Perfect,' she thought. A quick call later, and Angela was in her office.

"I would definitely enjoy working with you, Professor," she said. "I've read your most recent papers and... well, I'm honored you would pick me."

"Thank you Angela. I appreciate that. Now, we need to get these forms ready by next Monday. Can you handle that and the web site, while I set up the lab?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Just 'Sarah' will do," she said. "Once we've recorded sessions, we're going to need to spend some time tagging them -- going through to see what is done at what times, and making a spreadsheet. So, let's pick a time to meet every afternoon, and we can work on this together. We should also come up with a list of activities that seem to be missing, so we can get them into the schedule."

"What do you mean by that?" asked Angela.

"Well, for example, I was thinking we might experiment with facials, as they are primarily a visual phenomenon. However, what is done with the facial once it is created? Does the woman clean it off? Does she leave it in place? Does she try to eat it? Et cetera."

"I see," said Angela. "I wonder if you've considered other visual stimuli. Nudity or masturbation, for example. And what about doubles? I heard that you've done one or two of those," she said with a small smile.

"Indeed, those are all excellent questions. In fact, we should begin making our list now, while we are thinking of it."
