You get your pants on and kick at the bush. Nothing but a squirrel runs out from inside.
“Fuckin’ squirrels…” you sigh.
“Not so harsh. I know some squirrels.”
“The stories you could tell, huh?” you chuckle.
“Like you wouldn’t believe, little man. But friends or not, mood’s a little ruined out here.”
“I got a warm place,” you offer.
Goldie laughs. “Really? I assumed we were going to be sleeping out here our whole life.”

You really don’t think that’s too bad an idea. Goldie’s certainly an outdoorsy type, and you could grab some camping gear from your place if you were to go through with it. Maybe another time, though. You do mean to bring her home eventually.
