I had to take control. I was Idius Halfhwit. The chosen one. And I knew just the thing to save the whole plan.
I stood up, ignoring the praise of the males in class. Hermione, Padma, and Parvati all looked like they were drowning. I would give them oxygen.
"Everyone," I said with authority. Like magic the class quieted down. Only a few voices still speaking.
"Shut up you slug," said Seamus to a student, "Our King is trying to talk." I did my best to hold back my smile. Finnigan was never this nice to me. Everyone now was completely silent, and Aurora herself was silent as she looked at me. Which meant I had to be really precise with my words.
"Beautifu-," I paused, pretending that I had said that by accident, "I mean, Ms. Celeste. I apologize greatly for the disturbance that quite frankly.. Is entirely my fault." I saw the slightest smile form on Aurora's face, the beauty of which helped keep me from staring at her cleavage at this point. That was a good start.
"This whole incident may be really confusing, but I assure you the answer is simple. Very simple. indubitably simple." I was nervous. I had the answer for how to get out of this situation. I just couldn't think it through very easily right now. When everyone was looking at me. So I just said the first thing that made sense to me.
"I am dating both Patil sisters," I said. The announcement made the class again erupt. The Patil sisters seemed to realize that this was now going to be the story we were going with. I raised my hands to quiet the class again.
"Both sisters Idius," said Aurora, "I mean Mr. Halfhwit."
"Yes, both Padma and Parvati, at the same time," I said, "it's a lot of work. Loving them both. But please! We are here to learn. Please stop disturbing class everyone." I sat down. Leaving the classroom in absolute silence. It took a few minutes for Aurora to get herself back into the lesson, but at least for now I saved the entire plan. What a hero I was.
When class ended, I was nearly the first person out of class, fearing what the others were going to say. But Aurora had other plans.
"Mr. Halfhwit," said Aurora, "I need to speak with you." Fuck! The others were a mix of emotions as they left. Potter himself, looked like he had a few choice words for me.
This was going to be a tough day.
