The hotel employee returned with bad news

Everyone's attention was captured by the sound of a knock at the room door followed by said door opening. The employee from before stepped in, a flustered look on his face.

"Er, folks, I'm afraid to say I have a bit of bad news." the young man said. "There appears to have been an error in the booking, and we can only find two rooms instead of three..."

Anne smiled at this. "Oh? Well, that's no big deal! The guys can take one, and us girls can take another! Sophie and I don't mind sharing a room with Mackenzie, and I'm sure she wouldn't be bothered either, right?"

Mackenzie wanted to protest, but she knew doing so would only complicate issues. Anne and Sophie would act offended, questions would be asked, and then her secret would be fully revealed. So, instead, Mackenzie forced herself to smile. "No problem at all!"

"Smart answer." Sophie whispered in Mackenzie's ear as she continued to search for the missing polish brush, or at least pretended to search.

"It's settled then!" Anne declared, turning to the guys and giving them a dismissive wave of her hands. "Shoo, you two! Go get settled into your room while the three of us do girly things!"

The guys departed without much protest, promising to spend time with the girls later. As the two followed the hotel employee out of the room with their luggage in tow, Anne and Sophie returned their predatory gazes to Mackenzie.
