You bandage him up

After you let him inside, you lead him to the bathroom. It's a confined space, something you would normally avoid at all costs as to not put you at a disadvantage, but it's the most logical place to help him. You tell him to shower first, making sure to emphasize to get his wounds as clean as possible, before you slip into the mindless routine of bandaging cuts and stitching the deeper wounds.

You let his voice drift over you as you work, getting you some of the answers you needed. His name is Dakota, a young teen who had come out hiking with his brothers and friends for his eighteenth birthday. They had been hiking a nearby trail when he lost the group and the path. He'd tried to backtrack, but ended up slipping down a steep slope and had ended up dazed on the ground for a little while. When he finally felt like he could walk without falling or vomiting, he looked for help and found you.

"I was just so thankful to find this cabin." he said towards the end, "My brother gave me some survival tips, but I really don't think I would have made it through the night."

A part of you knows it would have been a close call at the very least with how low the temperature drops at night. "Well, you're safe and sound for now." you say, finishing up, "I'll see about getting a hold of the sheriff so your folks don't worry all night about you, but it's too late to head into town. You can crash on the couch tonight and I'll take you home in the morning."

Again, Dakota thanks you and heads for the couch, more than exhausted from the ordeal. You attempt to call the sheriff, but your phone isn't the most reliable thing out here in the middle of nowhere. Looking outside, you see the storm clouds rolling in. Hopefully they'll hold off on the search until the weather clears up and you can get him back safe and sound before they start in the morning.
