Round of Drinks

Mark wanted to hate Travis, wanted to despise him. He wanted him to be like a ‘Villain’, some guy that everyone just knew was wrong for Tiffany.

But what could he say, he was great. As they made their way to the bar, Travis decided to shout both Mark and Daniel a drink of their choice. He was truly a nice guy and Mark knew it, it just made it everything harder for him.

As they sat at an outside table in the sun, he couldn’t help but notice the way Tiffany looked at Travis. That was love. At least some sort of love, maybe she was just in love, maybe it was temporary. But it was certainly some sort of love.

“So how did we actually manage to pay for all of this,” Daniel asked, directing his question to Tiffany and snapping Mark back to earth.

“Well, the University board were happy to provide some funding since it’s all going to a good cause, the RA’s all chipped in a little and we got a special added boost from Frasier Turner’s father, chipped it quite a bit,” she explained.

Mark didn’t know anything about this Frasier but it turned out he was a RA of south wing who’s parents were filthy rich, rolling in the dough.

“Well it’s a great set up,” Mark said. “yeah for sure, didn’t expect it to be this well done,” Daniel added.

“Thanks guys!” Tiffany said, beaming from the compliments, “All money from the carnival games, the food and the drinks will all be going towards the winning Hall’s charity.”

Mark sipped on his beer as they continued to talk about the charities and how much more money was raised this year compared to last.

As everyone started to finish up their drinks, Mark felt his phone buzzing from his pocket.

Taking it out and having a look, he saw a text notification from Jess.

Jess: Grab some Cotton Candy for me and meet me at the Ferris wheel, ASAP

I guess he still wasn’t off the hook yet from her fun and games. But if he was honest, after the events of last night, Mark was starting to love this **** role, hopeful they could take the next step.

Mark skulled the remainder of his beer, “Sorry guys, there’s just some quickly that I need to do,” he said, excusing himself from the table.

“No stress, we’ll see you later on!” Tiffany said.

“Sounds great, oh and thanks for the drink Travis,” he added before leaving them to find some cotton candy.
