Chapter 25 by Sexdream Sexdream

What follows this complication?

...I should REALLY be careful what I wish for....

...the last two days were absolutely terrifying. Well, more so the second one, but we'll get to that later. Class had started with Aizawa telling us to decide the class rep amongst ourselves, which I saw as an opportunity to help get some attention off of myself. I really did not need people not in my sway scrutinizing me and finding out I had perpetuated a lie about my Quirk to make it seem less dangerous. See, older, smarter me had realized people would be a lot more wary of me when they knew the full limits of my Quirk were, and once people started to put me through tests after it had developed enough to have a full idea of what it entailed, I had managed to put enough triggers in enough of those doing the evaluations to get it put on my Quirk form that my triggers only lasted an hour, and people always remembered what they did. Long enough to be useful in stopping villains, but not practical in exploiting people. Luckily, younger dumb me hadn't done anything high profile enough and permanent to ruin the deception, but I needed to maintain it at all costs.

Anyway, I simply needed Izuku to become the class rep, him getting that along with getting with Ochako would hopefully give me some breathing room. So I had quietly told Momo and Ochako to vote for him and I did the same, and sure enough, he got the needed votes.

However, after that, I ended up with more of a general distraction than I had bargained for, as someone had managed to get into school grounds, which caused a mass panic that nearly resulted in several students, myself included, getting crushed. Luckily, Ida managed to get our attention and reveal that it was just the press trying to get the scoop on All Might teaching here, and we could all breath again... Both literally and figuratively, that panicked crowd was insane.

Of course, this cost me a chance to further program Midnight, as she skipped our class to get rid of the press, but oh well. After school, I had gotten Jiro to my place, but I'll come back to that...

...because even the chaos the press had caused paled in comparison to what happened the very next day. We had been given a rescue course for the day, but a bunch of villains had shown up. And they had the goal of killing All Might of all people, a notion I would have scoffed at before that day, but what was terrifying was that they had had a plan that honestly could have worked, and almost did if not for some of the other students interfering when that Nomu creature had gone against All Might. And speaking of Nomu, I had tried using my Quirk on it the first chance I got, but it simply had no effect at all. It was like there wasn't even a mind to plant a trigger in to begin with. I barely managed to avoid having the kind of intimate relationship I was going for with multiple girls with the ground instead when Nomu tried to smash me, but I managed to avoid it by running like a bitch, until Midoriya had attempted bro strike the thing, to just as much effect as my Quirk despite his monstrous strength.

Thankfully, All Might had triumphed in the end, and as an unexpected plus side to the whole cluster fuck, the gossip about my relationship with Momo had decreased even further. It was just mundane news compared to an attempt on the No. 1 Hero's life, obviously. Much fewer people paying too much attention to that meant fewer people I had to make time to use my Quirk on to deflect.

But anyway, I promised to go over what I did with Jiro, so...

Flashback

"Jeez, is it really too much to ask for for the No. 1 hero to get the occasional break from the press?" I asked Jiro as we met up at my place after that fiasco.

"Well, what do you expect, they're vultures," Jiro shrugged while we headed up to my room. "They go for the biggest scoops they can get for the least amount of effort... Had the security system kept them out much longer, they might have gone to bug Endeavor instead."

"...that probably wouldn't end well for them," I laughed at the idea of the press being dumb enough to irritate the No. 2 hero, who had a notorious temper.

She smiled as I pulled out my CDs to let her have a look. "Yeah... So you said you had a flute?" she asked teasingly.

"Ah, no actually," I denied. "It was a school instrument. Still, I could probably have Momo make me one."

"Ah yes, you two are an item now," Jiro teased as she looked up, and once again, our eyes met.

What trigger did I put in Jiro yesterday?
