Chapter 6
by ThekNight
How does the firefight continue?
Your the best for a reason
You guessed there are about a dozen pirates positioned around the bridge, all with guns trained on your cover, a metal console. Four against twelve isn’t exactly healthy odds but you can’t worry about that now. Your main concern now is getting control of this ship back into your captain’s hands.
You heard two pirates move up on your left probably trying to get a clear shot. A clear shot for them also means a clear shot for you so you aimed your gun at the point you thought they will first come into view. You caught them unprepared as you fired a series of bursts just as they walked into your sights. You took them both down and quickly popped in another magazine.
From the looks of things your fellow marines and having nearly as much luck as you. The fight remained fierce as you and the other three marines slowly picked off the untrained and ill-equipped pirates.
All went quiet and you figured that you had won. Dead Pirates lay slumped on the ground as you and your squad slowly stood up from behind your cover. The surviving crew, those lucky enough to find some cover in the hectic fight slowly emerged behind their own make shift bullet shields. You were relieved beyond words when you saw Captain Beas is among the survivors.
But Suddenly one of the dead pirates wasn’t dead anymore. She quickly raised and fired her sawed off scatter gun in your direction. The deadly pellets hit a marine full in the chest rending flesh and bone. You heard her fall to the floor but were looking straight at the bitch possum pirate situated directly between your sights. Just as fast as you can aim however she reached out and grabbed Giana pining her and using her as a human shield.
With a small pistol held against Giana’s head and her scatter gun frantically moving between you and the other marines you hesitated. Shooting at the pirate could mean the **** of Giana even if that is a small chance since you’re such a crack shot. On the other hand the pirate might have some good information and being alone, she’s obviously not in a position to turn down negotiation.
