Chapter 10 by tenatia

What does tomorrow bring?

Trying Toko

Makoto didn't feel entirely the best when he woke up the next morning. It wasn't that he was too squeamish to try the new set of actions he'd been set, but they were upping in difficulty, Ultimate Lucky Student or no, he was bound to slip up at some point, it was only going to be so long before somebody started asking questions, and if the motive came out... it was the express train to Ides of March 2: Makoto Naegi Boogaloo.

And there was no use denying it, they were pervier.

Makoto dragged himself to breakfast with one that was haunting him in particular: Get Toko to Masturbate. All cards on the table, Makoto had done some weird shit for the sake of these motives and... all cards on the table, he kind of enjoyed some of them, but this? It felt like he was crossing a line that he wasn't entirely sure he didn't want to cross, and that thought kind of alarmed him.

He spent the rest of breakfast avoiding her, but with Kyoko, Celestia, and Sayaka, that was an easy task. When she wasn't staring at Byakuya, she was making harsh comments about them under her breath. How was Makoto going to approach this? Maybe he could use that trigger, that Switch Up thing, but the handbook told him to use **** caution...

Sending Kyoko away for a moment, Makoto sighed.

"Monokuma?"

"What is it, my dear, hormone riddled, horny student?" The bear in question appeared, seemingly arising out of the floor. "How can I assist?"

"About Toko's trigger..."

"Oh, _my," _Monokuma huffed, shivering "Forcing your headmaster to collude with you for your heinous and perverted misdeeds! And here I was thinking you were such a sweet boy..."

"What, hey, you're forcing me into this!" There was a time and place for this, Makoto realised that it wasn't worth it, "Whatever. can you just tell me what it means when Toko's trigger says 'Switch Personality,' and 'Use with **** Caution?'"

"Whaaaaat? You're gonna ruin all the fun by having me tell you!?" Monokuma cried, "Well I'm not doing it! Nope, no siree! You are on your own!"

"But what if someone accidently gets hurt because of it?"

"Well that's on you, isn't it? Better be careful, huh!" Monokuma laughed maniacally, "Oh, alright, alright, I'll give you a hint; It's real _killer! _Upupupu!" He cackled. Makoto leaned in slightly, expectantly. But Monokuma said nothing further.

"What it is?"

"I just said it, Naegi! Gosh, you're so inattentive! But you should go tell that sad little bibliophile what I said, I'm sure she'll love to hear it. It may even bring out that other side!" Monokuma suddenly covered his mouth, "Uh, oh, I've said to much! I'm outta here! You've **** too much out of me! Goodbye!"

And he was gone. Makoto was more confused than ever. He ran his hands through his hair, and went to get Kyoko.

Kyoko blinked at him, "I... understand. Well, I think I have an idea."

"But what about what Monokuma said? About the 'Switch Up?' Makoto was weary about what he should be telling Kyoko, but he needed her help, and this particular situation demanded she at least have some clue as to what Makoto was trying to do.

"Personally, I think it's too dangerous," Kyoko mused, "Monokuma could be aiming to trap you into a killing. But it's your decision."

"If you don't think it's a good idea, then let's not."

"So, what's your plan?"

***

"Kyoko... are you really sure this is a good idea?"

"Do you have a better idea, Makoto?" Kyoko said, "Look, once she sees the book, she'll read the book, and that'll get her all riled up. "

"Um... Toko doesn't seem like the type of person who'd... do that..."

Kyoko sighed, "Okay, so maybe I don't really know what to do. I just wanted to be useful."

Makoto took her hand, "You don't have to be useful to make me like you. I like you regardless," He turned to what Kyoko had dubbed the Most High-Brow Pornography She Could Find, "Anyway, I don't have any other ideas. Let's just try this."

The sound of approaching footsteps sounded from outside the library door. Makoto grabbed Kyoko's hand and pulled her back behind one of the shelves as Toko entered the library. She was, surprisingly and luckily, alone, no Byakuya in sight.

The pair of them watched as she stopped, the book having clearly caught her attention.

"What i-idiot would just... leave a book out like this?" She huffed, drawing closer to peer owlishly at the pages. She stopped, her eyes widening.

"W-what on... what on... what on earth is this!?" She demanded, but, notably, she didn't draw away, "What sort of imbecilic _p-p-pervert _would read this filth and just leave it lying around!?"

Makoto and Kyoko watched her stare at the book. She was muttering pretentious obscenities under her breath, but as she began to turn the page, they began to die down.

Suddenly Toko, looked up, scanning the library quickly, and sat down, poring over the book conspiratorially. The two of them watched for what felt like an age as she read, occasionally muttering another snide remark to herself.

"It's been twenty minutes," Kyoko told him.

"We don't have time, she's not doing anything," Makoto didn't really know what he expected. Toko was not about to be the type of person to get her rocks off in the school library.

But then he remembered.

"Wait!" he whispered, it doesn't matter anyway! She needs to be aware that I made her do it for it to work!"

"Makoto, what do you plan to do?"

But Makoto ignored her. Swallowing down his discomfort, he walked out from the shelves and into the main area of the library.

What DOES Makoto plan to do?
