Argues his case

“Aunt Jane” Dave says softly, “That trinket is mine, can I have it back please?” he asks. Jane looks at her nephew then back to the bone in her hand.

“Not that I don’t trust you Dave, but how do I know it’s yours?” she questions

“Come on Aunt Jane, you know what Jake is like, he’s always after my stuff” Dave reasons. Jane could feel the bones influence start to travel through her body as she held on to it.

“What is it meant to be?” she queries as she looks at it more closely

“It’s meant to be a finger tip bone” Dave answers, so far not feeling any compulsion to answer, evidently Aunt Jane’s questions haven’t focus or specific enough.

“But it warmed up when I told Jake to shut up?” Jane says poking the bone with a finger.

“Coincidence, it’s not meant to do anything, just sit on your desk and look interesting” Dave replies, hoping that his answers sound truthful enough to convince his Aunt to give it back to him. Jane looks at the bone, then Dave, obviously conflicted.
