A surprise at the house

As soon as Daniel started to get close to his family home, Mark could tell that they were entering a fairly rich area.

The suburb was full of double story houses, fancy gates and fences that guarded long impressive driveways. It was a big difference to Mark’s own home interstate.

Daniel eventually pulled up to a double story modern style house down a road called Plummington Street.

“Jesus Christ, this place is huge,” Mark said in awe as they parked the car in the street, just outside the home.

“Um yeah but fair warning, maybe don’t be saying that when we’re inside today, my parents are very religious, or swearing, try avoid it,” Daniel warned him.

It would be hard for him to remember this for a whole day but he was just going to have to do what he could to remember.

They hopped out of the car and made their way to the front gate. Daniel pressed an intercom system where he told his parents that he and Mark had arrived. Moments later, the gate began to open and they entered the property.

Clearly very wealthy, Daniel had never spoken about his up bringing in general. Potentially just a very humble guy, Mark thought.

As they approached the front door, it opened up and Daniel’s mother and father appeared. They welcomed the both of them with open arms.

If there was an issue between Daniel and his parents, they did a great job of hiding it.

The inside of their home turned out to be just as nice as the outside. Everything had to be expensive, there was no question about it.

“We’ll have lunch outside shortly so we have some time to go for a swim first, you can get changed in the bathroom upstairs, I’ll lead the way,” Daniel explained.

They climbed the marble staircase and made their way down an upstairs hallway.

However, they were both surprised by an upstairs door opening up and someone coming out. They didn’t expect anyone else to be over so it gave them a little fright.

Out of the room came a dark haired girl. It was Alexis, Daniel’s older sister, the middle child of the family, otherwise known as the golden child here.

“Daniel!” she exclaimed, giving him a big hug.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Daniel replied, “Aren’t you meant to be studying at Harvard right now?”

“Well yeah but I’m taking a week break away from campus, just to see mom and dad and help them out a bit. Still studying here anyways,” she explained. She then turned to Mark and offered her hand for a polite handshake, “I’m Alexis by the way.”

“Hi, I’m Mark, it’s nice to meet you.”

Alexis was very pretty but she did appear to be a little bit of a nerd like Daniel had suggested. She had some type of glasses on that she had to keep pushing up as they rolled down her nose. She was in some really casual clothes, long pants and a baggy shirt.

It was clear she hadn’t left her air conditioned room, with the heat that was out today, there’s no way anyone would choose to wear long pants.

After a small chat, Alexis went back to studying and Mark went to the bathroom to change into his bathers.
